I'd rip it out and start afresh, but considering how long this has taken me, I'm just going to keep going. I might finish this eventually.

Oooooh.... Are you running out of yarn? I guess it's not possible to knit more rows to close it... and stretching will not works?

At least it isn't so long ago that they have discontinued the yarn. Back in April you said you had 2 skeins and maybe you need one more (per your estimate). I would say try to finish it and be done with it.
