Just got the yarn...
(Michael's was having a buy one/get one 50% off sale on all yarn.) Now the planning begins.
(After seeing the dragon afghan, my father's wife requested a throw of her own, minus dragon. Since it's cold and I've enjoyed working with the yarn, now's as good a time as any. I seem to recall being here this time last year. I have thoughts. I'll update my progress as it happens.)
Minus the dragon? The horror...
ReplyDeleteI'm putting a dragon in another project right now, so...
DeleteI'm with Alex about the lack of dragon.
ReplyDeleteThere'll be more dragons.
DeleteThe dragon is what made the piece special.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the next project.
Thanks. I'm willing to do another dragon afghan, but the recipient of this one won't appreciate the dragon.
DeleteWithout the dragon? Well, each to our own.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea the lack of dragon would get this many comments.
DeleteLook forward to see how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented. I'm glad you found a sale. And I'm one to agree about the dragon. lol Be well!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteSince I live in a warm climate, these yarns have remained a fancy for me though I'm familiar with them because of my youth spent in a cold hill station. I imagine you pulling those knitting needles with a smile of satisfaction.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have cold for very long, so I've got to get this done soon. I live in a warm climate as well.
DeleteLooking forward to your project reveal.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThat blue is gorgeous. I bought a multi-coloured yarn to make into a jumper for myself. I have to finish a beanie for my Dad first, so I suspect my jumper might be for winter next year!
ReplyDeleteAnd that last comment was me. I keep forgetting I have to enter my name every time now.
DeleteI'm sure your dad will understand if you put off finishing his beanie ;)
DeleteThat's great you're working on something new.
ReplyDeleteI would be minus the dragon also, then again I did enjoy seeing all the dragons when I was in Wales this past summer; so might have to change my mind about that. Anxious to see your project grow. Love the shade of blue. You're right this is a good time of the year to knit or crochet...yarn is warming and when the item gets big enough it's on your lap/legs it helps warm you as well. Double bonus on that.
ReplyDeleteYes about having a blanket to work under. Hopefully it won't warm up too soon and I can finish the afghan before. (I really have a couple weeks before things will likely warm up. We'll see how long our cold snap lasts.)
DeleteI love the colour! It will be nice to see the results and I know she will love it
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely her blue.
DeleteGreat score at Michael's! Enjoy the yarn. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, couldn't pass that sale up.
DeleteCold? :) I like that yarn, especially the blue. I was at Michael's earlier today. Didn't have what I wanted, which was a shame as there was a 25% off coupon.
ReplyDeleteCold for here. Yes, I know everyone else laughs at what we consider cold.
DeletePretty yarn, have fun planning the afghan ;)
