Yup, final. (I have a theme going this week. Funny. It wasn't planned. It just happened that way.)
I finished it Tuesday night.
It's supposed to be 8 feet (2.4 m) long.
How long is it? I don't know. When the scarf folded in half measured 48 inches (122 cm), roughly, I did the row of ending triangles. And I've refused to measure it again since.
(My sewing measuring tape is only about 54 inches long. I do have a hardware tape measure, but I'm not getting it out.)
At this point it's close enough, and that's good enough for me. I'm done.
It's needs a wash, and then it goes in the mail. And I get to move on to another project.
In case you haven't been following along, I've been updating my progress weekly since I started this on October 10th:
- In the Cards
- Entrelac Scarf Progress
- Part 2
- Part 3
- Part 4
- Part 5
- Part 6
- Part 7
- Laws of Gravity 3000
- Part 8
- Part 9
- Part 10
You did a great job, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe scarf looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the feeling that comes with starting a new project. Do you have one picked out already?
The last project I completed was back in July. I don't have high hopes for this year, but perhaps I'll surprise myself.
Happy creating!
That is one long scarf. It is going to keep the recipient very, very warm.
ReplyDeleteBut is a scarf ever really too long? So, might as well go longer if you can manage it :)
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful and I bet it is so warm!! What's next to do?

Wow, that's a scarf! Someone's going to be comfy warm, thanks to you. Did you happen to see the Etsy commercial for Christmas? There's a little girl wearing a huge scarf like the one you knitted for your niece last year. Every time I saw that part, I thought of you and wondered if you knitted it.
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is so beautiful. It's almost a vest, the way it looks in your pictures. I'm working on two projects - my throw and an afghan that started as a lap blanket for my late mother in law but she passed before I could complete it. Both are still in progress.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your projects.
DeleteHi Liz - well done on finishing it - love the colours. All the best - Hilary
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your finished project. The color combination is great.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I like the color combinations. Nice job getting it done!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteYou are very talented and scarf look amazing. Enjoy wearing it.

Oh, it's not for me. It's a birthday gift for my sister-in-law.
DeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThis is just a stunner and she could curl up with it while reading a book or watching tv. I love it
ReplyDeleteShe could.
DeleteIt is beautiful, and I don't blame you for calling the project done. She better be grateful. ~grin~ You're a true artist.
ReplyDeleteI don't worry about that. If she didn't respect the work I do, I wouldn't knit for her.
DeleteWow, congratulations on this beautiful finish! Lovely scarf
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, but I bet you are glad to finally finish. And I finished 2020, does that count as a project? It certainly felt like it! ;)
