A Fictional World

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements.
😉

What if the stories we write actually create other worlds? What if our world was created by a storyteller in another universe?

  1. It must really be true considering what's going on in our world these days!

  2. My writers group was just talking about this over the weekend. It was an interesting conversation.

  3. That would be interesting - like if we were all part of a computer game written by someone in a different universe. As a SF reader, nothing like that would surprise me. We'd better hope he doesn't end the series based on us.

    1. There is the theory that this is all a computer simulation. It has to do with black holes and something about dimensions. It's kinda weird, but so are parallel universes.

  4. Well, I'd fire our otherworldly writer. lol And heaven forbid my stories translate to reality. I put my characters through the wringer. ;)

    1. Ah yes, that's the rub with this sort of idea.

  5. It certainly does feel as if we were in a dystopian-like story right about now. I call for many edits and re-writes!

  6. You've got me thinking. Most definitely, Liz.

  7. Then I'd like to complain to our author about the way this story is panning out...

  8. Then I want to BOP that author on the head for writing 2020 into the story.

  9. If someone wrote our world, I would tell him to take his eraser and erase Trump out

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
