What if you had a reading done by a psychic (one you trust, one you know who's been accurate in the past), and their prediction for you was something terrible happening to you?

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

I don't believe in such things so I wouldn't believe what they said. Simple!
ReplyDeleteI'm like Alex, I don't believe in psychic!
ReplyDeleteIf you believe in psychics there would still be potential to change anything negative they may predict. It would give you a chance to act accordingly so you could avoid or prevent a potentially bad outcome.
ReplyDeleteI generally don't believe in psychics (although there was one in this area of New York who has quite a following and he's even appeared on some cable shows - he's also doing zoom "house parties" during the pandemic - I wonder if he predicted COVID, though). So....it might scare me but I would also take it with a healthy dose of skepticism.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to rephrase the question. I didn't realize all of my readers were skeptics (although, maybe I should have known).
DeleteBelief or not, it's still a good story idea. :) Be well!
ReplyDeleteIf you knew doom was coming for you... How would one react?
DeleteThis remind me on Christian Dior and how he was superstition, but I don't believe in these things.

That seems to be the consensus.
DeleteOnce a fortune teller told me she saw darkness in my near future and if I were to pay her more she'd pray for me.
ReplyDeleteI would think one can change what has not happened yet to be honest. It reminds me of my mom. When she was in her early 20s(I think then) she went to a psychic. The psychic told her she would be pregnant when she is 36 but have a tough birth and die giving birth. She was pregnant with me at age 36 and when giving birth, ran into complications because I was coming out with my face first so the dr's had to push me back in and position me right. Thankfully, my mom did not die but she said she thought of the psychic when she was pregnant but she also didn't give her much power over her.
ReplyDeleteYes, of course one can change the things that are coming into one's life. Glad that psychic was wrong.
