Entrelac Scarf Progress, Final

Yup, final. (I have a theme going this week. Funny. It wasn't planned. It just happened that way.)

I finished it Tuesday night.

It's supposed to be 8 feet (2.4 m) long.

How long is it? I don't know. When the scarf folded in half measured 48 inches (122 cm), roughly, I did the row of ending triangles. And I've refused to measure it again since.

(My sewing measuring tape is only about 54 inches long. I do have a hardware tape measure, but I'm not getting it out.)

At this point it's close enough, and that's good enough for me. I'm done.

It's needs a wash, and then it goes in the mail. And I get to move on to another project.

In case you haven't been following along, I've been updating my progress weekly since I started this on October 10th:

  1. In the Cards
  2. Entrelac Scarf Progress
  3. Part 2
  4. Part 3

  7. Part 6
  8. Part 7

  11. Part 9
  12. Part 10
Finish any large projects recently?

  2. The scarf looks amazing!

I love the feeling that comes with starting a new project. Do you have one picked out already?

The last project I completed was back in July. I don't have high hopes for this year, but perhaps I'll surprise myself.

    Happy creating!

  3. That is one long scarf. It is going to keep the recipient very, very warm.

  4. But is a scarf ever really too long? So, might as well go longer if you can manage it :)

  6. Wow, that's a scarf! Someone's going to be comfy warm, thanks to you. Did you happen to see the Etsy commercial for Christmas? There's a little girl wearing a huge scarf like the one you knitted for your niece last year. Every time I saw that part, I thought of you and wondered if you knitted it.

  7. That scarf is so beautiful. It's almost a vest, the way it looks in your pictures. I'm working on two projects - my throw and an afghan that started as a lap blanket for my late mother in law but she passed before I could complete it. Both are still in progress.

  13. It is beautiful, and I don't blame you for calling the project done. She better be grateful. ~grin~ You're a true artist.

    1. I don't worry about that. If she didn't respect the work I do, I wouldn't knit for her.

  15. It's lovely, but I bet you are glad to finally finish. And I finished 2020, does that count as a project? It certainly felt like it! ;)
