Lit Up

Last week I talked about a couple patterns I found online. I managed to start playing with one of them:

I only finished one of the bulbs as I had been out and about, so I didn't want to take a lot of stuff with me (like the fiberfill). When I got home, I finished one:

It's a little lopsided. Ah well. And I'm not sure if I like this yarn for the "wire". But it's a start.

I may have found a home for the completed tree, so now I can start that. Although, with the way I've been working on projects (like, not at all), we'll see if I actually do any of it.

I totally missed my window to do anything Halloween, but I haven't missed Christmas. Yet. We'll see if I manage to complete anything this year.

Do you have any fun plans for Halloween? (I don't.)

  1. No plans here, either. As for that adorable bulb, it looks perfect to me. :) And those trees are awesome, too. Unfortunately, my cats would think these were all toys. lol Best wishes.

    1. I bet there'd be a way to make a cat toy in a similar manner. If someone wanted that sort of thing, anyway.

    2. Ellen Pilch (her blog is https://15andmeowing.com/) makes bouncy cat toys. She sent some when we got Terra and Polly, and again when we adopted the neighbor's kitty. :)

  2. That bulb is really cute! so are the trees. No "fun" plans, just handing out candy. I live on the street of, one block from, an elementary school, so there are a lot of kids around. I like to decorate the yard, but don't have fun answering the continuous knocks since it scares the cats and sets the dog off barking!

    1. It sounds like you should set up on the porch with a bowl of candy and just wait for the whole thing to pass. But that can be a tedious evening.

  3. It looks real! I love it! No plans here for Halloween except handing out candy which I have to get last minute or I eat it all.

    1. Isn't that the whole fun of Halloween? Eating all the candy?

  5. As everyone's already said, it's really cute. It's a good idea, and I certainly can't tell it's lopsided. I think they'll look great when they're all done.

  7. I couldn't tell that bulb was lopsided but that's me. I'm sure it will look just great when you finish and you'll think of an alternate string, I'm sure. This string of lights was my favorite of the three you posted last week but I probably won't get to it until my temperature blanket is done. I'm up to April 6th. Yay me!

    1. That's assuming you have extra yarn left over. And, of course, you can do it for next year. Glad to hear the temperature blanket is coming along.

We don't celebrate Halloween in my corner of the world.

    Hugs and blessings, Liz

  9. Fun, little, yarn lights!
I passed out candy at an event here along Ocean Beach. It was a fun, long afternoon.

  10. That looks really good to me. Alas, I'm working late so I will miss Halloween. I'm often working late so I often get home at 8:30ish.

    1. That's too bad. Hopefully you got the fun of the season, anyway.
