The Projects

Yesterday I posted a list of some things I've done this summer. These are not interesting things. These are decluttering, organizing, and sorting things. Projects.

I'm not nearly done. As I sit here writing this, I'm glancing around at the various shelves and drawers I want to go through and declutter and downsize. Reorganize. Move and make work more efficiently. It feels kind of overwhelming, but I just need to keep plugging away at it.

That leads me to today's question/s. I'm asking in the spirit of what I've been up to. The more mundane, the better.

What have you been doing lately? What have you gotten done lately? What would you like to get done?

  1. I would like to get weeding done, but there are so many, and it gets to hot so early in the day. What have I been doing? Watering the garden. Over and over and over. I'm sick of it! Then reading and playing phone games. Have I gotten anything done? Yes! I got rid of a big donation pile to Goodwill. Not a project, but I'd been putting it off.

    1. A big donation pile for Goodwill definitely qualifies. I'm thinking of doing similar, but I keep putting it off.

  2. We moved house. Or rather, are still in the process of moving. So my entire life has been packed up. I’ve purged things I don’t need or use anymore. And I’m starting to unpack and set up the new place.

  3. I don't think I've completed anything major, but I am getting close to finishing my WIP.

  5. I did a little (as in "a little") decluttering a couple of weeks ago. Lots more to go. I did some going through old, unfinished or not started crochet projects with yarn (including researching if the yarn was even still made) last week and put in a storage bin. I still have several projects to go. Taking books out of library and not reading. Sweating. Exercise walking in the humidity and then feeling dragged out. Too much blogging, maybe so I could avoid working on those other projects.

    1. Any decluttering is good. We let these things sit for so long, and then we wonder why we left it so long.

  6. Hmmm, mowed the lawn, front and back, and now its not growing so I'm good til fall on that. Need to once again flea treat all the cats here, a never ending task. Need to replace a couple of cat yard run spots that have deteriorated over the years. Got many replaced already this summer.

  7. I need to clean up the back yard. Before and after pictures need to be taken; if it ever gets finished, that is. lol What I'd rather do is set up a fish pond. Heh... Be well!

    1. Why don't you set up a fish pond? It's the fun things we really want to do, isn't it?

    2. Yes. :D Money is an issue, unfortunately. :( We hope the coming months won't bring so many unplanned expenses.

  8. My summer projects:
    Put mulch down: Done
    Have a fence built: Done
    Build a deck: Done
Have the icemaker line installed on my refrigerator: Done. Although, to be honest, I asked my son-in-law to do that. I was tired from 1-3.

    2. And today? Weather-sealing the front door. Because, as they said in "Game of Thrones," winter is coming.

    3. I mean, that helps keep the a/c in too, so...

  9. haha....I have done a LOT of laying around. Its been the type of weather that don't bother the Fibro with pain but with the colon doing its flip flops which causes PAIN. I just lay around. BUT, on the days that it has not been so bad I have done some cleaning, but that cleaning consist of just keeping the house from being a total mess. However, I have gotten a few things done. It just takes me longer. I have done some furnitrue painting. I have sorted a few things that I am giving away and so far the bags have made it to the living room floor. I need to pile the things that go to others in the car so when I am out I will have it and not have forgotten it. Its a shame that here it is mid July and I can't really admit to doing anything big or meaningful.

    1. I wasn't asking for big or meaningful. And, considering the pain you've been in, getting anything accomplished is an accomplishment. I know what you mean about putting things in the car so you don't forget them later. I do that a lot.

  11. I have been wanting to declutter the house for years, but I procrastinate each time!
I dread just the thought of it.
