Watering (some of the) 13

Last week my father and his wife went out of town on vacation. They asked me to stop by their place and water their outdoor plants. Well, I just needed to water the potted plants. The plants in the ground have irrigation. And the succulents didn't actually need to get a watering the day I was there.

(They have a pool in their backyard. So, they have a small planter area, but most of the backyard is concrete and, well, pool.)

While there, I realized I had more than enough to do another photographic Thursday 13

I don't know gardening at all, so the images are presented without identifiers.

  1. I recognize the first as cyclamen and the ninth as (I believe) blanket flower aka gaillardia. The rest of these lovely specimens are unfamiliar. Thanks again for sharing that article on Sound of Freedom.

    1. I don't know what many of them are either. I could ask, but I didn't.

  2. Those are very nice. A pool, you say? How tempting! Most of the people I know with pools have just that, a pool and concrete. I like pools, but I like a yard.

    1. That was one of the pros when they looked at the house--it had a planter so she could garden. It's not large, so that was probably another plus.

  3. Hopefully they're having a great time.
Coffee is on, and stay safe.

  4. Did you hit the pool, while there, I hope? I would have!

    1. Nope. They left it covered, so less water would evaporate while they were gone. (I don't even own a swimsuit.)

  5. Countdown to pretty petals. #8 looks a little sorry.

    1. 8's supposed to look like that. It's a fire-something and a succulent (so I didn't have to water it).

  6. Photo one is cyclamen, which is an indoor plant where I live. I think I'm seeing a fern in number four but they aren't full sun plants. I think the bottom plant in six is something called a burro's tail. And number nine, blanket flower. I'm stumped otherwise, probably because our landscape plants aren't yours.

    1. That's okay. If I really want to know, I can ask the gardener (my dad's wife).

    1. It's probably five degrees cooler at their house than mine, so it was nice to go down there.

  8. I am also not good with plants. But that's really good assortment of greenery.
