Sleepytime

Last Friday, I started a new summer weekly post with my random question. And no one seems to have a DVR anymore. How quickly things change...

So, last week was my first official week of summer vacation, and I had my usual problem. I can't seem to get to bed at a decent hour. I find my actual getting into bed getting closer and closer to midnight. And then I'll read until 2 AM. At least.

That's my question for you this week: When not impacted by work or other outside forces, what time do you find yourself getting to bed?

  1. Usually 10:00ish. Sometimes earlier, but no much, as it stays light so late. Last night I forgot it was Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, so stayed up posting until 11:00, which is late for me. 9:30-10:00 is my ordinary I guess. Not a night owl even though I have no pressing morning appointments. Except if I do sleep late the cats yowl at my door for breakfast!

  2. Usually around ten thirty. I wish I could go to sleep earlier, but I'd probably still feel tired when I woke up anyway.

  4. I go to bed at 11:00 then often wake at 3:00, stay up a few hours, go back to bed. That's my preferred schedule but I don't get to keep that too often.

    1. I read somewhere that something similar used to be the preferred sleeping schedule of everyone. Most would get up sometime in the middle of the night, do something for a couple hours, and then go back to bed. I wonder if our bodies would like that more.

  5. Well, for me, my work in office gets over every day at around 1.30 am. (I reach office around 5.30 pm). By the time, I am back home, it's around 2 or 2.30 am. I get to bed around 3 am.
On the day I have my weekly off too I sleep only around midnight.

  6. You sound like a night owl, staying up til 2 reading. I would never be able to do that. I'm usually in bed by 10 pm. Am retired now, but it was typically 10 when I was working as well. Reading actually puts me to sleep, makes my eyes tired. Another reason why I like audio books so much. Good luck getting into a summer rythmn that works for you.

    1. If I get sucked into a book, I can read until 4 AM. I try not to as the next day I pay for it, but in the reading moment...

  7. Usually around midnight, if I'm not required to be up at an early hour. I veg in front of the boob-tube...bad habit.

    1. Midnight's not bad. Midnight's what I've been doing more often than not lately.

  10. I have a DVR and I do tape things on it. I just watched "Foolish Wives" on it...a silent film. I just like...love my DVDs especially when they have all the extras on it.

    1. I think what I was asking was what movie can you watch over and over, although I could just ask that. Maybe next week.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
