Your Expertise

Last week I spent the whole week working on two videos. Which leads me to this week's question:

If you could start a podcast or YouTube channel, what would your topic be?

If I wasn't already doing a yarn-y thing, I think I'd probably want to do a podcast on substitute teaching. I'd love to get other subs together so we could compare horror stories. I don't know if anyone would want to listen in, though...

  1. Oh, boy... it's not my thing, so, something I enjoy talking about whenever I run into people that like the same things. Gardening and thrifting. I love talking about dogs, but I'd get upset hearing how other people treat theirs, so I'd stick to plants and thrift store finds. I do occasionally watch YouTube videos on gardening, or Dr. Lori (art historian who appraises and gives advice). I'm not going to do it though!

  2. Either true crime or television shows. But of course I hate having to talk.

  3. My podcast would definitely be on hiking and photographing remote areas in the Mojave desert. And ya, I would listen in on a substitute teaching podcast.

  5. I started a Youtube channel (@fred-quiltingpatch) for the Quilt Along I was running. It tooks awhile to make these videos, but it was fun. Still, I don't have time to do some more right now, so I guess I will leave it sleep a while ;)
Horror stories as a substitute teacher could be fun too!

  6. I have no idea! But I might just listen to a podcast about substitute teaching, because I I know several current/retired teachers. My late childhood best friend started out as a substitute teacher (she had been a stay-at-home mom) to help with medical bills incurred from her first bout with cancer. In a way it might be like peaking into her life.

  7. I already have my youtube channel about handbags and I can't think of anything else as a topic I'd want to talk about that much and that often, haha!

    1. That answers the question, actually. I figure most people don't have a YouTube channel, but those that do have already done the thing.

  8. My favourite subjects are technology and media. I have a YouTube and podcast channels, but haven't been able to devote good time because of lack of time.

    1. You could totally video yourself doing any of your projects. You do so much. People could learn from you.

  11. It would require getting yoga-instructor certified, but in the last year or so I've thought I would like to do "Yoga for Broken People". Talking about people with chronic issues or acute pain that impacts movement at the moment, or mental strains that sometimes make it hard to hit the mat. People who need a little attention. Like we all do.

    1. That would be great. Although, for a YouTube channel or podcast, you wouldn't necessarily need to be certified...

  13. That's an interesting question. I'm not sure, but I'm encouraging a close friend to share his interesting life experiences.
