Newest Feature
At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements ;)
What if we had car to car communication? (So I could tell the idiot honking behind me that I couldn't make the left turn due to the pedestrians in the crosswalk. Geez.)

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

I can see both the good and the bad with this. Sometimes what I say to the car that is honking at me probably shouldn't' be said!!
ReplyDeleteI kind of think I'd be a little more careful if the other driver could hear me.
DeleteIt could be good, hut I can see it getting out of control, people lettung their emotions run even more wild, maybe causing more road rage.

Yeah, there is that little downside.
DeleteThis would create road rage city! I could see it turn into a very bad thing because the next thing would be some hacker could then listen in on your conversation or worse, hear you sing to the radio
ReplyDeleteI don't know. Considering how road rage-y people get when they drive, I have a feeling it could be worse than the comment sections on YouTube...
ReplyDeleteMy little old mazda would probably be a reasonably polite girl, but you just have to know that those walloping great trucks are gonna be as rude as their tyres are tall.
ReplyDeleteGood point.
DeleteI'd have to learn to censor myself in the car, which I currently don't do.
ReplyDeleteYou could always roll down the window and communicate with your finger.
ReplyDeleteI also see an epidemic of road rage. Many times, best if no one knows what you really think. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteBut perhaps if you knew you could talk to the person in the other car, you wouldn't be so quick to anger.
DeleteI think it would be great. Sure it could cause road rage but could also be helpful.

ReplyDeleteI would LOVE that. I've always wanted a flashing sign I could switch on that was in my back mirror to tell the person to GET OFF MY REAR! when they're following too close.
