Dread Plague Face Coverings

Why am I making myself some more masks?

  1. I'm getting bored with the ones I have.
  2. I cut out some fabric ages ago, and it's high time I got to finishing them up.
  3. My district just opened to in person instruction (right before spring break), so I am going to have need of them.
  4. I don't want to do another "I didn't make much progress on my seven (and a half) year cardi" post.

I only got those two knitted up. I have two more blanket stitched and just waiting for the knitting part...

And I think I finally got the dimensions right on the fabric. These fit so much better than the ones I made last year...

Although, we'll see how much better they feel after I've had them on all day...

Wow, the freckles on my forehead really popped out on that one.

I make no promises as to what I'll have completed by next week's post. I'm on spring break, so ideally I'll have more time for my projects, but who knows?

  1. Yep, that sun will bring those freckles out. I like to tell little kids that have freckles that I wonder if I can take a sharpie and play connect a dot! lol...Great deal on the mask. I hate that we will still have to wear them for a bit even though we have had the shots....Oh, I get my second and last in three days.

    1. I always have freckles. Have always. They just seemed to pop out in that photo.

  2. Good job. I think masks will be with us for awhile.

    1. Considering how well they work, I think they may come out for flu season next year whether we have to wear them or not.

  3. They came out nice. The world can always use more masks.

  4. Great combination of fabric and knitting! Wearing a mask all day is tough for the ears, sometimes is great to have a stretched link behind the head. See what I mean?

  5. I like how those masks fit. If the ear pieces bother you, there are the crocheted ear savers to take care of that. Another project!

    1. I don't use elastic on these, so I don't need them. But, those extenders are good for those that are using different types of masks.

  6. I feel bad for anyone who must mask up for entire work shift. Ugh... Be well!

    1. Considering that doctors and nurses have been doing so for years, I think I'll get accustomed.

  7. Freckles are cute. I think the orange from the crocheted part has highlighted the freckles along with the lighting. Who cares...we are individuals and should be happy with what we have...except for my extra poundage. They look good and seem to be nicer on the ears.

    1. I don't mind the freckles. That's what I look like. They're just usually more muted in photos; that's why I noted that they'd popped out.

  8. Hi Liz - well done ... I've just got three ... but if I had to wear them all day - I'd definitely need more. All the best - Hilary

  10. The green is such a pretty colour. And yay that you are going back to face to face classroom. I bet the kids will be happy (although they will probably never admit it, lol)
