Whoops

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements.
😉

I wrote this "what if?" a month ago when this story was happening. It's old news now, but it got me thinking, and it fit the letter of the day...

What if you made a small error that ended up having global implications?

  1. Since the interpretation is up to me, I will say, if I made an error with global implications, I would become a hero, since the error solved some worldwide problem! An error could just as easily invent something wonderful and destructive, right?

  2. Saving the world would be great, but what about the butterfly effect?

  5. If I screwed up that bad and I knew anyone like William H McRaven, I'd ask him for advice.

  6. I would honestly hope that I was never put in the position to be that important that I could screw up the world that bad....but if I was and it was done, I hope that I could live with it. Yes, it is supposed to be good luck for it to rain on the wedding day. In cases like that, we like to be able to get the pics done after the wedding before the rain comes. In the case of that wedding, it rained pretty good that morning, stopped about an hour before, then poured when they were leaving.

    1. They lucked out with their wedding and pics, then.

  7. Oh boy, not very confortable... If it happens to me, I will try to find a solution for the whole world (we are speaking fiction here, right?), because of course I do not have super powers, but my friends do ;))

  8. That sounds like a deity level error. :) Interesting.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
