Photo Editing

I haven't been doing much knitting or crocheting this past week. I did work a little on the purple infinity scarf, but I didn't make enough progress for photos.

What I did instead was some photo editing. I'm still working on listings for my Etsy shop, and these photos have been sitting on my computer for a while. (August. I think the date on these is August.)

When I start, the photo looks something like this...

I do a little tweaking, and it looks like this...

Or I start with this...

And get it to this...

I ended up taking 33 pictures for this listing. I get to use 10. And that's about how many pictures I take for each, so it takes me a bit to go through them.

Hopefully next week I'll have some new knits (or crochet) to share.

(If you're interested in purchasing some of my EOS lip balm holder/keychains, you can find them here.)

  1. I imagine it takes a lot of shots to get one close enough for you to work with.

  2. That is cute :) I still have to head over to your shop for my purse, LOL. I haven't forgotten; just had a busy weekend :)

  3. I made one of those homemade lightboxes. I had to break down and buy one as the one I made gave me more problems than it was worth.

  6. I've tweeted this out. Photography can be fun, but it can also be a lot of hard work in editing and adjusting colors to best effect. I'm glad I don't have to sell my photos although I say "never say never". Good luck with sales.

  8. Those are so cute! I'll have to add you to my favorite shops. I'm beginning to think my poor Etsy shop is a lost cause. I just HATE how long it takes me to complete a listing.

    1. Oh yes, listings take forever. And then there's the constant tweaking...

  9. You could take as long fiddling with the pics as making it I'm sure! It's a lot of work. I'm glad Songbird above reminded me it was a lip balm holder as it would have been a good picture for 'what am I?' competition. What a fabulous Idea Liz, it is the first question my hubby always asks 'Got any lip balm?'

    1. One of these days I'll break down and invest in Photoshop. And learn to use it. The program I use only slightly tweaks things, so getting true colors sometimes isn't so easy.

  11. The year I stopped believing in Santa Claus, we spent Christmas at my aunt's house. Her daughter and 2 sons were all about 10 years older than me. Christmas Eve I bunked with my cousin Becky. She told me to settle down or Santa would never come. I told her he wasn't real anyway. At that moment. we here some "clunks" on the roof. She said, "Oh no? Sounds like reindeer to me." I jumped out of bed and ran down the stairs. My cousin Ricky was looking through the door and said, "I just saw Santa Claus! There he goes!" In reality, my cousin Craig threw some logs onto the roof and my cousins, Ricky and Becky, played along. I believed for a few more years.
