While yesterday was the first day of school, I am actually writing this a week ago, just after I finally tested negative for Covid. (Since that was day six after first testing positive, it wasn't too bad.) And, I've felt a bit isolated. (Of course. I was not out and about while sick.)
This is where today's (final of the summer) random question comes from:
If you were stuck on your own for a week, what are some things you would do to pass the time? (You can't go out. But anything you have access to in your home is fair game.)
Read and write, that's what I'll do.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan.
DeleteAssuming I was feeling well in your scenario, I would read. I have lots of reading material in the house. I have some Great Courses (educational videos for adults) I've purchased that I haven't listened to yet. And I would sit in the back yard; maybe do some weeding around the house.
ReplyDeleteI didn't specify feeling sick, so yeah, that works.
DeleteIf I were stuck at home for a week, I'd probably dive into some long-neglected projects like organizing old photos or tackling a jigsaw puzzle that's been waiting for my attention. I'd also take the opportunity to binge-watch all the TV series I've been putting on hold.
ReplyDeleteThe summer wave of 2024 has been especially bad. I've known quite a few people who did not dodge the bullet on this one.
ReplyDelete“Trapped ” at home? Surf the net, blog, read, watch tv, cook if I felt up to it, play with the cats…
ReplyDelete(I felt rather trapped for a couple days there.)
DeleteGlad you are feeling better! Read, find ways to exercise, homeowner chores, Facebook, email, photo-editing, and a little TV (vintage movies).
ReplyDeleteOoh that would be the best time for me: I would draw, paint, sketch, collage, blog, create art on my computer for postcards, write postcards, register the ones I received via Postcrossing, read, listen to music. Take short breaks and lay on my bed with my dog and cat watching tv. I also enjoy organize shelves and drawers by sorting items by same type. That lead me to Amazon or Temu to look for containers and such…. I can go on :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the plans.
DeleteI'm glad you tested negative. I think I would finally buckle in and watch the movies taking up space on my DVR.
ReplyDeleteI have movies like that. I don't even want to think about how long they've been sitting there.
DeleteGlad you’re feeling better! For a week alone at home, I’d dive into books, binge-watch shows, and try out new recipes.
ReplyDeleteOooh, new recipes. I'm a terrible cook, so I will cheer you on.
DeleteI think we all learned how resourceful we are back in 2020! I'd read. I'd reread if I ran out of new books. I don't usually watch TV, but I could do that. I have a yard I can go out into. You know what? I'd do pretty much what I already do!
ReplyDeleteAh, but it hits different when you can't go out, as I'm sure you well remember.
DeleteI recently tested positive for Covid. Glad to read you are back to being negative!
ReplyDeleteI'd hope to get out and take walks and spend time in the newly refurbed back garden.
Sorry. I hope you get over the Covid soon. And I hope you don't get any symptoms, or if you do, they've very mild.
DeleteTry to get some organizing done.
ReplyDeleteyikes.....COVID! Hate that mess. My son had it recently and he said he felt fine, but felt like his allergies were giving him issues. Each version of that mess makes you feel different. I have had it three times and the 2nd and 3rd was like a cold...the first, I felt like CRAP. Well, I felt like crap with each time but the first was the worst. Since we are six weeks down the road, glad you are feeling better. Seems like your summer flew by. I know it feels that way here too.....I am so ready for FALL. Now to play along with your question~ I have been that way several times and I have learned to like my company!! haha, the girls, I think get tired of me singing to them! But, I watch a lot of TV. I don't seem to be able to get creative lately so I sit and surf fb and blog, watch tv, flip through the channels and NAP.
ReplyDeleteYou're creative enough when you have the energy. When you don't, there's nothing wrong with some relaxing TV.
DeleteRead, cook, garden, organize the pantry. *Glad you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteRead. Watch my films. Compose on my blog and read blog posts. Play with my animals, which includes my hubby. Create many cards. Paint my gnomes. Organize my movies on the computer..well, add to the ever growing list. Maybe clean..we will see.
ReplyDeleteLots of projects to accomplish.
DeleteRead books. Try awesome recipes off Tiktok. Shave mats off cats. Sweep and mop. Flea treat cats. Do laundry. Wash windows. Read more books. Do puzzles. Play games online. Manipulate photos and print them out to mat onto wood pieces. Things like that.
ReplyDeleteYour cats always need something, don't they?
DeleteHope you're feeling better. I will read all day or binge-watch a series.
ReplyDeleteI am, thanks.
DeleteStuck on my own for a week, and being sick, I would drink a lot of hot tea while visiting blogs of friends, andmaybe doing a little quilting ;) I hope your first day at school went well, and that you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThe ragweed pollen count has me staying inside more than I'd like. Gah... I still go out for chores and visiting neighbors but there are too many indoor entertaining options to mention.
ReplyDeleteThere are. But they're more fun when you're not stuck inside.
