What if? It's the basis of many stories. We ask. We ponder. We wonder.
On Tuesdays I throw one out there. What if? It may be speculative. It may stem from something I see. It may be something I pull from the news.
Make of it what you will. If a for instance is not specified, interpret that instance as you wish. And if the idea turns into a story, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements 😉
What if Amazon got broken up by anti-trust laws?
That would be both good and bad.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the idea of anyone, including government, deciding a company is too big. If they are successful, and customers use them, congratulations to them! I think of Amazon and Microsoft, and how both started with a few individuals (Amazon in a garage), and made it big. So all the PC makers installed Microsoft, not their fault for it being what people wanted! Don't punish success.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with big companies who customers like doing well for themselves. As long as they are treating the customers right which sometimes Amazon does not. But as long as we keep using it, let them be.
ReplyDeleteI’d actually have to shop around for things I need
ReplyDeleteI was an early customer of Amazon (I think my first order was around 1997, when I got my first computer) and my early experiences were so positive. Now, I depend on it for a number of things I can't get locally anymore, possibly because of....yes, you guessed it. But despite all that, I would not be for its breakup.
ReplyDeleteI hate and love Amazon. While it is immensely convenient I do go shopping in person as well and I would survive.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Please!! I need Amazon.
ReplyDeleteThis is Birgit…I think people would freak out. I don’t order too much from them. I still like going to stores.
ReplyDeleteI generally don't order from them
