Special End-of-Year 2022 News Quiz

Since it's the end of the year, I sought out an end-of-year quiz. I found this one from the New York Times:

Special End-of-Year 2022 News Quiz for Students

It's a good overview of the year, but there are a couple caveats. First, it's from the New York Times, so it's very US-centric. Second, it's 45 questions long. It's multiple choice, and the answers are given after you choose, but if you don't have time for a 45-question quiz, feel free to skip it.

I managed to get 41 out of 45. I'm impressed with that score. I did guess on a couple that I got right, but mostly I did remember most of these.

If you get a chance to take it, let me know how you did in the comments.

  1. 42/45, and two of those I should have known.

  2. I only got 36 out of 45, which surprised me a little. Though I purposely got the question about Jet Plane Pollution Barbie wrong because she can just go to hell.

  3. 41/45 and one I had a brain cramp on - I should have known!

  4. It's great you got such a high score! Being so US centric I'm sure I wouldn't do so well with it, haha!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and you have a happy new year!

  5. 42...don't know diddly about T. Swift. The Ukraine-Russia fighting for 40, 80 or 10 yrs felt like a trick question given the history of the USSR. And I didn't realize that our support of Ukraine in its fight with Russia was to the tune of 19 billions dollars. Fun quiz, Liz. Thanks.

  8. I got 38 which isn't bad. I truly knew 2 of the answers I got wrong but got screwed up in the way I read it. Oh well, some were lucky answers. I wish you a very happy new year and now will work backwards.

    1. Good job. Yeah, it's amazing what we forget. And sometimes the questions are worded weird.

  9. I got 36, which I'm very pleased with considering there were some very US-centric Q in the mix.

  11. 32 out of 45.
I got all the US-centric questions wrong.
However, I got all questions related to developments (even the US ones) that had made world headlines right. :-)

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
