Space Cruise

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. ðŸ˜‰

What if there was a low orbit "cruise ship" that we could book passage on?

(I wrote this question months ago, but I'm going to let it post all the same. It takes on a whole new meaning right about now, though.)

  1. It wasn't low orbit, but there was a space cruise in the movie The Fifth Element. Not too sure I would do it. Certainly not now!

  2. I wanna stay on the earth. No orbiting for me, high, low or in-between.

    1. Valid viewpoint. Even if it was totally safe?

  4. That would be awesome. Maybe someday it'll be possible.

  5. I've been on a real cruise - one in space would be fun.

    1. I think I'd enjoy the view for more than 15 minutes, but that's just me.

  7. I'd love to do it virtually. Actually being on the orbital cruise ship, no thanks.

    1. Well, now that's an idea. I bet someone could make a fake orbital cruise ship, either as a video game or as a "virtual experience". If I only had the skills...

  8. If it involved going too much up in the sky I wouldn't like it. I like both feet planted on the ground most of the time.

  9. I love cruising on water but never thought about doing it in space! Might be fun if we can avoid the meteorites traveling past us! HAHA...it would be fun to see all the stuff up there, until it gets boring and you can't get off..

    1. Perhaps they'd have to have stops, like on a space station or something...

    2. Port of Calls!!! haha that would keep me from feeling closed in.

    3. Well, it's a what if, so we can add all sorts of interesting things to do to it.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
