Housebound?
At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. 😉
I thought this week I'd go topical:
What if you were put under quarantine?

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

My favorite place is home so as long as I had enough food, I'd be happy for a week or two.
ReplyDeleteIn this day and age, with the internet at our fingertips, it's easy to stay connected while housebound. So it wouldn't be terrible. But I used to work from home ...and very much looked forward to that one day a week when I headed to the office.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I get cabin fever when I'm in too long.
DeleteIt would be hard to work from home, but great time for sewing ;))
ReplyDeleteI'd say "yay".
ReplyDeleteI would love it. Actually with all the delivery services out there one can be at home for weeks and never encounter anyone. They could just leave supplies out in front.

I think I would go crazy. When I am stuck in the house after a big snowstorm is how I would feel, multiplied by who knows what number. I have a lot of crocheting to work on, and reading material to read, and (as long as the power stays on) Internet, yet I know I would be pretty miserable after a few days (assuming I wasn't sick, which would make it that much worse).
ReplyDeleteI'm with you.
DeleteI know I would get bored. I have done of projects I could be doing. Plus cleaning which is no fun.
ReplyDeleteWell right now I have so much to do that that would bite into my time line....but if so, I would veg out, just don't take my computer or TV!
ReplyDeleteI think many of us would be upset if we lost either of those.
DeleteIf I got paid..Yahoo! I can look outside and enjoy making cards and watching movies. I would be ok. Now another good friend of mine would die..he has to be always on the go and often goes to 3 events in one night!
ReplyDeleteAh, that is a good question. Being paid? I did not specify...
DeleteI don't think it will be much different than the way we live now. We're not reclusive but we can most of the week without going out.
