Build It Better

What if? It's the basis of many stories. We ask. We ponder. We wonder.

On Tuesdays I throw one out there. What if? It may be speculative. It may stem from something I see. It may be something I pull from the news.

Make of it what you will. If a for instance is not specified, interpret that instance as you wish. And if the idea turns into a story, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements 😉

What if we could redesign the human body?

Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter

the letter B rendered in knitting

  1. I thought of things, started typing them in, backspaced them away. I think it would lead to scary places, so I'd leave our imperfect, fragile, bodies alone!

  2. A tail will be an appropriate appendage!

  3. I've read that our body's cells "renew" every so often by regeneration. I thought that more parts or organs could do the same, so many diseases would be eliminated. Also, like in the digestive system where there is a way in and a way out, it would be helpful if the circulation of our blood had the same in and out in a natural way, the "in" should be an intake of mixed elements from nature (oxygen, iron, etc) because obviously there would not be blood distributors... Also, referring to reflexology, it would be good if we were born with an instinctive knowledge of which points under our fleet to press to make parts of our body feel better. I will stop here, because I could go on...

  5. Some keep.trying to make their bodies better but do the exact opposite. It would be nice to fix the pain and the pancreas of people who are diabetic but this leads to a territory that we may not want to cross.

  6. I'd combine the pee and poo areas to resemble birds. :)

  7. I'd build it with a way to combat cancer and other diseases more effectively.

  8. I'd either have us on all fours when we ambulate, or have a much, much better balance system. A better built human would not fall!

  9. Wouldn't it be incredible if we had these tiny, efficient cleaners inside us, taking care of waste without any hassle? Imagine never having to worry about bowel movements or urinary urgency again! With these miniature marvels at work, waste would be broken down seamlessly, leaving behind nothing to cause discomfort or inconvenience. It's not just about the convenience; it's also about the relief it would bring to those, like myself, dealing with hemorrhoids!

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
