What's on Deck

Summer's here, so it's time to kick back...
(If you want a pair of these, you can purchase them here.)
A couple things...

Last Monday, my sister-in-law Heather joined us. Thank you to everyone who shared the link and/or donated to her GoFundMe. As of this writing, her GoFundMe has passed $7000, and last Monday's post has reached the top of my views. (Which is an exciting thing, as I thought that free pattern for the crocheted water bottle carrier would never vacate the top spot.)

If you commented on that post, Heather did reply to each and every one of you. So, if you haven't gone back to check it out, make sure you do.

Also...

This is my week over at Unicorn Bell. Some very nice authors have joined me to do my work for me to ask some "What If?" questions to get those writerly brains working. We'd love it if you'd pop on by and check out some novels that may be new to you.

What have you got going this week? Any fun holiday plans? (If you're not in the U.S., any fun weekend plans?)

  1. That's awesome it went over seven thousand.
Looking forward to Wednesday at the Unicorn Bell. Thanks again.
I know I am NOT going to the beach this week! Half of my state goes there during the Fourth of July.

  2. Nice sandals in the pic. I pretty much live in flip flops over here. We're staying local, finding a good spot to see the fireworks, but that's about it. Have a great holiday.

  4. I'm glad people are donating. I hope she gets funded.

  5. Liz,

I'm just dealing with my water issues, as you know. It's too hot to do anything here - even barbeque. You can't do that at 110 degrees. Probably staying home and trying to stay cool. We can see the fireworks from our patio, so that's one thing nice about this place. My husband may have to leave for OR. His dad is 96 and not doing well. We'll see.

Very cute sandals. I live in flip flops here all summer.

  7. WOW over $7,000. I am very impressed. Loved the cute barefoot sandals. I will show those to the granddaughters. No big holiday plans here. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  8. Sorry I missed the original post. Good luck to your sister, and I'm glad to hear the funding seems to be going well.

  9. So happy that Heather is getting a good response from your followers and I'm still sending prayers her way. We are still upset of the demise of the Powderhorn fireworks. We've lived in this house since '99 and until last year we only had to walk a few blocks to see a wonderful fireworks exhibit. Now the other options seem to be far too much of a hassle.

  10. So neat about your sister in law's go fund getting funded a bit more! It is amazing how a little by a lot can add up. Going to HOT Phoenix for the 4th :)

    1. Yes, every little bit helps. HOT Phoenix? Isn't that redundant?

  11. That's fantastic news about Heather. :-) Great looking sandals, too, by the way.

Let's see, my 4th of July/weekend plans include spending time with my in-laws, BBQing, and making a bonfire. I'll also be making a gluten-free apple pie and some Harry Potter-inspired treats; the former is for my mother-in-law's birthday, and the latter is for a cousin-in-law, just for fun.

    1. Gluten-free apple pie? You'll have to post the recipe for that on your blog.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
