- It's the last week of school. Which means it's time for my end of year stuff: end of year stats and Graduation Daydream. The stats will have to hold off as I have one day scheduled next week, and assuming my alarm clock doesn't fail on me (like it did on Friday...) I may have another subbing story or two for you all.
- Although, if this week is anything like last week, I won't have much for the blog. Silly cooperative classes. I mean, when the teacher leaves a lesson plan that says they're to work quietly, you'd think they'd fight this, wouldn't you? And when they start to talk, me telling them that I'm going to take down names shouldn't work. But it did.
- I have done a little crochet...
- I noticed something interesting on my sidebar. My most popular post has changed. For a long time now, it's been the pillow prop pattern, but suddenly that's dropped and now my water bottle carrier has taken over the top spot.
- For those of you who are not knitters and/or crocheters, I do sell the finished items in my Etsy shop, Zizi Rho Designs. Here are the links: Water Bottle Carriers, EOS Lip Balm Holders, and Cell Phone Pillow Props.
- I've started posting quizzes on my Zizi Rho Designs Facebook page. Not quizzes made by me or anything (I wouldn't bore you with that). Some of them are actually fun. Make sure to stop by and check them out (and let me know how you did).
- And finally, it's almost my week at Unicorn Bell again. If you're an author with a book to promote (or you know an author with a book to promote), let me know either here or at unicornbellsubmissions [at] gmail [dot] com (put "book tour" in the subject somewhere). I have posts open from June 29th through July 3rd.
A little something for ArcherGirl's 14th birthday. (ArcherGirl is my niece.) It's a cute little pattern called Spiral Crochet Flower. Follow the link for the pattern and video instructions. |
It's summer, so people are carrying around more water bottles now.
ReplyDeleteI actually have two books to promote now. What are the odds of that happening?
Students working quietly when asked...at the end of the year? What a pleasant surprise.
ReplyDeleteFinally the last week of school!!! Such a cute thing you made for your niece! Too bad we don't live closer, I would come by and ask you to teach me how to crochet!
ReplyDeletebetty
Well, there are tons of videos showing how now.
DeleteThe crochet bow is so pretty! It looks great on the package.
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteI could so use a water bottle carrier like that for when I go on walks!
ReplyDeleteI have several on sale in my shop...
DeleteSchool may be over, but sounds like you will still be busy.
ReplyDeleteDo you make cell phone holders? I have a Galaxy 4, and It would be wonderful to be able to hook it onto something in the purse.
Actually, I do: https://www.etsy.com/listing/97421752/smart-phone-pull-case-cozy-for-iphone-or?ref=shop_home_active_1
DeleteI took the music quiz. They were only 12 years off on my age. Guess I should be flattered. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteAs long as they thought you 12 years younger...
DeleteThe spiral flower for your niece is very pretty. I like the water bottle holder. Too bad I don't go anywhere anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have, like, five for my own personal use and I never use them.
DeleteThat flower is so cute! What a great bow.
ReplyDeleteThose kids. Don't they know you have blog posts to write? This must be their way of driving you crazy.
What a gorgeous color you selected for the spiral crochet flower. Looks like a royal purple or plum. Of course the shape looks great, too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I took the "Name the Bands that Begin with 'The'" quiz. Got 12/38. Not great. The thing is, I was able to think of plenty of band names that aren't on the list, like: The Four Seasons, The Supremes, The United States of America, The Mamas and the Papas, The Scorpions... Oh well! Still had fun.
I think you did better than I did on the The quiz.
DeleteArcherGirl likes purple (or at least she used to), so that's why the flower was purple.
Your crocheted work is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHappy summer!
Thanks
DeleteI didn't know you had a FB page. I just popped over and liked it :) I adore that spiral flower. Your niece will love it I'm sure :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the FB like :)
DeleteI love the home-made purple bow-that is a keeper!! I actually plan to save up a little money and buy a few of your gift card holders or special order but I need to save up a bit first.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to crochet. That's something I never learned...yet.

I'm actually completely self taught in crochet. Got a book and took it step by step. Nowadays they have videos on YouTube you can use.
DeleteI crochet one pattern. A granny square. And all I ever make are afghans or a baby blanket.
