The Search

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. ðŸ˜‰

One day I sat down to write a bunch of "what if?" questions to get a bit ahead on the blog. A theme emerged...

What if extra terrestrials were to reveal themselves to us tomorrow? What if they revealed some of their kind had crash landed here a long, long time ago and they were here to learn what had happened to them?

  1. The way things are... I often feel that half the population may be aliens secretly trying to topple humanity!

    1. Secretly? It doesn't seem so secret to me...

  2. Well, if they are looking like Dennis Rodman, Trump or Kim Kardisiass, they didn't really keep things secret

  3. Man, it took long enough for them to get here.

  4. Well since it is so close to Thanksgiving, I would hope that they like turkey!

  5. Well, I suspect they would be surprised to find that their kind had interbred with an Amish community. This caused untold chaos for the Amish and newly arrived extraterrestrials. When the offspring demonstrated all sorts of skills. The world would change drastically.
    Just a thought.

  6. It would just confirm what many already believe. Hopefully they will deny their crashed ancester lived in Egypt and built the Pyramids.

    1. Oooh, that would be a story. Where we thought the aliens ended up, they didn't. Perhaps they ended up in Scotland...

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
