Short Horror Story
Since it's Halloween, rather than a what if, I thought I'd try my hand at a two sentence horror story. (Thanks for the idea, Jeanne.)
If you want some really good ones, go here. And if you'd like to try it out yourself, I'd love to see what you come up with in the comments (or go ahead and link to your own post).
After days starving, trapped by the snowstorm, we thank James for his sacrifice today. But the children are going to be hungry again tomorrow.

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

DeleteThis is really good! I agree, creepy......
ReplyDeleteHope its a good Halloween for you!
betty
Your 2 sentence horror is excellent but I bet they could make that meat last at least a week. I have nothing frightful to write, now I must get back to my lunch. James tastes quite good, nothing fatty.
ReplyDeleteNot sure whether to laugh or cringe...
DeleteJames must be a cat!
ReplyDeleteKeep telling yourself that ;)
DeleteSo we drew lots and stared into each others round eyes as we held up our hands. One of us was going to die but none of us liked that idea. It was horrible watching who got to live until finally the short stick was drawn. Please, I'm sorry don't kill me a meek crying voice pleaded, Horrified starving eyes stared at each other hesitating. This could easily be one of them. The howling snow storm outside reminded everyone there was no escape from this dilemma. One of them spoke finally, So what!!! you played the game and we're hungry, now die! Happy Halloween - Spacerguy
ReplyDeleteShades of the Donner Party! Well done (sort of). Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteConsidering how freaked out that story made me as a kid, it's a wonder that that's what came out when I tried my hand at this.
DeleteHow creepy and fun. Spacer Guy filled in every detail while each comment made me laugh in a good way. Love to all!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it. I think I need to hide under my bed now.
DeleteHi Liz - James only lasts one day ... hope that snow melts soon! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHaha...chilling. James sacrificed himself?
ReplyDeleteUm, no, not really. Hard to convey in two sentences, though.
DeleteWhat a touching story of family, togetherness, and cannibalism. Thanks for sharing. :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, well... Not sure why I went there, but it works. Kind of.
DeleteVery creepy!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
