Slow and steady. That's how the pillowcase has been going.
I am now on my second skein of yarn, but only just. This is about a skein's worth of knitting.
So, I thought I'd see how well it fits along the pillow it's covering.
I think that's going to work. Although, there's going to be a bit of yarn chicken going on to see if two skeins is enough to cover the whole pillow. I don't really want to buy a third skein.
I think I'll worry about that after I finish the second skein.
Never heard of yarn pillow.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Nothing wrong with slow about getting it done. Keeps you from getting bored with doing the same thing over and over for a long period time. Getting bored with it might increase the amount of time you leave it sitting. Just go at your own pace.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fairly simple pattern. Anything more complex would get lost in the yarn. (Not worth the effort.)
DeleteYarn chicken - funny!
ReplyDeleteKnitters have an interesting sense of humor. See: frogging, tink.
DeleteSlow and steady is how I'd describe my writing progress too.
ReplyDeletehaha.. chicken yarn.. fingers crossed you have just enough.
ReplyDeleteIt looks sooooooo soft. I want to squeeze it so badly.
ReplyDeleteLooks cozy
ReplyDeleteIt is.
DeleteYarn Chicken sounds like a nerve wracking game! I always have liked how variegated yarns turns out.
ReplyDeleteNormally, I'd just buy another skein, but in this case, I'm trying to get rid of this yarn, and I don't want leftovers. I have an idea for if I don't have quite enough yarn to make the whole pillow.
DeleteI like that a lot! Don't forget to show us when you're all done.
ReplyDeleteI will. (Assuming I finish...)
DeleteThat is one wild pillowcase. It looks soft though.
ReplyDeleteI never knew there was so much anxiety in knitting. I would not have the guts to play yarn chicken. I have played other kinds of chicken games.
ReplyDeleteThere's a backup plan if the yarn doesn't quite make enough for the full pillow.
DeleteLooks like it's for one of those long pillows. Hopefully, the chicken runs away and you are good. It's looking good.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a body pillow. It has a cover now, but that cover needs to be retired.
DeleteI've played yarn chicken so many times in my life that all I can say is: Good luck.
ReplyDeleteIf the point of the project wasn't use up the yarn I bought for another project, I'd get another skein. But I really just want to get rid of the yarn.
DeleteSlow and steady wins the race. I'd love to do some knitting but given I'm at the inlaws because of FiL's recent death, and MiL smokes, I don't dare bring my knitting from the car and it's too warm outside to do it there. ><
ReplyDeleteYikes. Sorry. Of course, yarn does wash...
DeleteI didn't know it had a name, but I am very familiar with the angst of yarn chicken. My last project I just won (kinda), lol.
