Fix It?

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements.
😉

What if it turned out you were doing "it" wrong all along? (I'm not going to specify what "it" is. Let your imagination go wild.)

  1. Theres a right way and a wrong way and even the unspoken way. I suppose there are many ways one can make it so.... but even still. If the right way gets "it" done and you've done everything right, you can still fail. Its not fair but its life.

  2. Some days I do feel I'm doing the publishing thing all wrong.

  3. I would hope someone would teach me how to do "it" right lol!

  4. I wouldn't like finding that out. I think it would make me sweat, literally, to find out that I were doing 'it' wrong.

  5. I hope it wouldn't cost me any money to do it the right way then.

  6. HAHA....Well, I went to the gutter! But I am flipping back to be clean. So like Betty above, I just hope whatever it was that I am doing wrong it is not costing me money.

    1. One of the reasons I didn't specify is because that could totally be the "it". . .

  7. I've learned that there is more than one right way to do things. If I'm doing it wrong, I might ask if I'm still getting the right result. For example, I don't hold a pencil in the "correct way" (this has been true since I was a child) but I can still write. So "it depends" is my answer.

    1. Yeah, well, I'm one who is all for if it works for you. I was talking more about stuff where it makes a difference (but I didn't specify, so. . .).

  8. That's a regular realization for me. lol I have a tendency to make tasks more difficult than necessary.

    1. But then it's nice when you learn the easier way, right?

  9. Hmmm.....then I must be doing it right if I had no complaints.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
