Last week was dead on the subbing front, so I have the space to share my new excitement: Animaniacs is being rebooted!
Animaniacs was a half hour cartoon from the mid-90s. The premise was that the Warner brothers (and their sister, Dot) were 1930s Warner Brothers stars until they were locked away because their movies made no sense. At least, they were locked away until the '90s. . .
It was a great cartoon, and one I enjoyed immensely. And I was in my 20s when it was out, so this isn't childhood nostalgia.
Recently, I saw that I can access the episodes on Hulu. I haven't. I'm not sure why. One of these days, probably. But then I got word that they've made new episodes. And I'm thrilled.
There's even a trailer. . .
They return November 20th. I can't hardly wait.
Did you watch Animaniacs back in the day?
Not one I ever got into I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read the post title, I was singing the theme song in my head. That's awesome that it's getting rebooted. I'm so going to make my kids watch it with me.
ReplyDeleteI bet it won't be a chore for them :)
DeleteThis was a Steven Spielberg production! How interesting. It was fun to watch, so thanks for putting it in your post today.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was. Still is? I hope so.
DeleteI did not...in the 90s I was OLD...haha. I did however so some cartoons in the early 2000s when my first grandbaby was little....
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised it wasn't on your radar. But it was fun.
DeleteI remember watching it with my kids!
ReplyDeleteI was so stoked to hear that Animaniacs was back! I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid. I can still remember the first line to the countries song.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Animaniacs until now, but then, I am old.
ReplyDeleteNot everyone cares about cartoons. No biggie.
DeleteI was excited to hear they were coming back. Loved that show. I've watched some of the original episodes on Hulu, but not all of them. Yet, anyway...
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I did watch that show with my kids! You know what else I liked, Pinky and the Brain (weird right?)
ReplyDeletebetty
I do remember Mickey Mouse and my grandsons taught me about Animatronics, as in 5 Nights at Freddies. (You link at the TT doesn't work).
ReplyDeleteIt should work now ;)
DeleteYes, because I have a son born in 1981! I wouldn't have watched it on my own. I loved it, and Tiny Toons. Usually reboots are disappointments to me.
ReplyDeleteI didn't do Tiny Toons, but as I was at the evil toy store (now defunct) at that time, I am familiar with it.
DeleteI didn't even know the premise, to be honest. Enjoy the reboot!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun. I think you might enjoy it.
DeleteI sort of saw bits of it, but wasn't fully into watching it like my husband was.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun. I hope it's still fun.
DeleteI loved this show and watched it every chance I got. It used to be on regular tv so I am bummed it is on another one I don’t have. They were so funny and so much of it had great jokes from the classic films. I recall one, I think they were boxing and they suddenly did a take on Persona, I believe Death was involved so they were spoofing The Seventh Seal as well...it was a whole Ingmar Bergman spoof and I loved it.
