The Christmas List

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements.😉

I may have mentioned once or twice that my favorite Christmas movie is The Christmas List. I lamented that I could not find it on DVD, and they no longer play it on TV. Then I got the brilliant idea (whoever gave me the brilliant idea--I have since forgotten who--thank you!) to check YouTube for it.

So, for this week's "what if?", I give you the "what if?" for this movie...

What if you got everything you asked for on your Christmas list?

And the movie. Enjoy.

Edited to add: This is my 2500th post. On the 25th of December. Weird coincidence.

    1. The other day some radion show was going on about favorite Christmas movies. And they were all theatrical releases. I so wanted to call in and tout this one. Because after 20 years, it's still my favorite.

  2. Then I would get nothing since I didn't have anything on my Christmas list :) But growing up, we got a few things on our list; we knew not to ask for big ticketed items, but if I had asked for them and got them, I'd maybe be a believer in Santa Claus :)

  3. I'd be able to pedal my bicycle again, as well as be able to ready teeny-tiny print. :-)

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
