I Did It

What if? It's the basis of many stories. We ask. We ponder. We wonder.

On Tuesdays I throw one out there. What if? It may be speculative. It may stem from something I see. It may be something I pull from the news.

Make of it what you will. If a for instance is not specified, interpret that instance as you wish. And if the idea turns into a story, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements 😉

Apparently, I'm on a time travel bender. I was watching Time Bandits on Apple Plus first. Just as I finished that, I discovered that Midnight at the Pera Palace had returned for season two on Netflix. I jumped on that so fast...

Which leads to a pretty obvious time travel "what if?" for today...

What if you went back in time to find the answer to a specific question only to discover that it was caused by you?

  1. I guess if I knew I'd caused it, I could change it then. But, I wouldn't. I wouldn't mess with changing history. Too many little disruptions we wouldn't think about. I wouldn't want to go back in time. Or forward.

  2. It makes you hope time travel is never made possible.

  3. I cannot fathom making any difference. lol But the idea is an interesting premise. Be well!

  4. This is complex. If I can resolve the problem, I will resolve. Or else, I will live with it!

  5. I'm very tired and sore so I'm not quite getting the question. I might hate me for changing it all up.

  6. The idea of traveling back in time to find out you caused the very question you're asking makes you think about how our choices can have unexpected effects. It raises so many questions about fate, responsibility, and the consequences of our choices.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
