Beginnings

I haven't been doing much knitting/crocheting the past couple weeks. Once I finished the seven (and a half) year cardi, I found I didn't have the mental bandwidth to figure out what I was going to make next.

But now that the school year is over, I have some time to start some new projects.

I began a swatch (in crochet)…

And then I started another kind of swatch (in knit)…

And that's all I'm going to say about them at the moment. (I'll talk about them a bit more once they begin to look like something.)

  1. I love the crochet pattern and the color of the knit swatch. Looking forward to hearing more about them once they begin to look like something. :)

  2. Looking forward to seeing what you're making. Do you take the summer off or do you work summer school too?

  3. Shall we take bets on how long this project will take? ;)

  4. Years ago, your readers wouldn't have had a clue about what "mental bandwidth" was. Now we're all somewhat knowledgeable about our brave new techno world.

    1. Years ago, I wouldn't have had the language to describe it.

    1. Depending on how fast or slow I go, you'll know sooner or later :)

  6. I can't wait to see what they turn into. I especially like the color on that second one, and the style you're knitting it in.

  7. Great new projects, I love the crochet pattern, and the pretty blue knitted. Maybe a dragon will raise from one? Have fun!

  10. Ooohh. I really like the crochet pattern but I can't wait to see both. I'm finishing up keychains, hair bows and barrettes today and starting on some crochet in between my quilting. :D

    1. No worries. My posts were just more of the same.

  12. My mental bandwidth is so limited I don't even want to try to troubleshoot a pattern I'm working on that has gone wrong. I think I know, but I don't want to deal with it. I'll save it until "tomorrow" which I suspect may be months from now. So, kudos for moving forward with two, not one, projects!

    1. Been there. Generally, I find when I sit down to fix some mistake in my work, it isn't as hard to fix as I thought it would be. But the digging in... Yeah, sometimes you just don't want to. It'll be there when you're ready for it.
