I Knit a Hat
This is what I accomplished this week on the knitting front.
Or back.
It's a bulky weight yarn. I used size 13 needles. Cast on 48 stitches. Did a 2 x 2 ribbing for 2 inches. Increased by 2 stitches for 50 stitches total. Worked until the piece measured 7 inches. Then decreased by 5 stitches every row until 5 stitches remained.
(That was for me, in case I ever want to replicate this hat. It's easier to find it online, although my knitting notebooks are fairly organized.)

It's cute
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI dream of a day I can do more crafts...
ReplyDeleteGreat job Liz - nothing could be nicer if you've got a cold wet bald head.
ReplyDeleteWell done ... wish I could wear wool ... and thus can't wear so many things - would love a hat like that during winter - so very pretty - but not for me - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteGreat looking hat!
ReplyDeletebetty
Looks good and I like the display head!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteNotebooks don't usually have a search feature though :P
ReplyDeleteIt came out really nice! I Love the colors.
That's a nice hat. I love knitting with chunky yarn. Mostly because it goes so fast. XD
ReplyDeleteIt does. That's why it only took me a week :)
DeleteSmart idea using that big ball of yarn on a stick for pictures and to show off the hat.
ReplyDeleteNot my idea. Another blogger had a tutorial on how to do it. You start with a Styrofoam ball and wind the yarn around it.
DeleteI like the colors! I know what you mean about things being easier to find on the blog. I use mine to find some of my recipes sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThere have been a couple times I wanted to replicate something, and I found the info on my blog.
DeleteIt is lovely. The colors are what I would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI bid $12!!
ReplyDeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteFabulous job! It won't be long before you can put that hat to good use. I like cool weather but not cold. Unfortunately, I can't have one without the other. :)
I love that hat! I have my knitting needles ready to go as soon as I finish up my cross-stitch that I'm working on right now. I have soooo many things going on and so many to finish.
ReplyDeleteI like having a couple projects going at the same time. Can't wait to see your cross stitch.
DeleteI love the hat!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThat's a handsome hat!
