Peeking In
At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. 😉
What if you happened upon your bedroom window, looked in, and saw yourself inside?

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

Oh my...what a paradox....in most time travel stories, the traveler is told to avoid meeting his other self so as to avoid major disasters...
ReplyDeleteDoes inside you see outside you too? Does it matter if one sees the other? There is a wall and a window between you two...
DeleteI'd wonder which of us was in the right universe.
ReplyDeleteWell, That would be a great twilight Zone episode. I would think of Time Travel, Out of Body experience or a parallel universe. I would even think that aliens are trying to take over like the film. Needless to say I would be freaking out.
ReplyDeleteCould be any of those.
DeleteI would think, get some clothes on! Hahahaha :)
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteIt would be creepy. I would hope she looks good.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was going for...
DeleteIt'd be time to cut back on the drugs.
ReplyDeleteI'd hope I wouldn't see myself snoring with my mouth opened wide.
ReplyDeletebetty
I'd say I need a new nightgown.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteI've always wanted to be in two places at once, pretty neat huh?
ReplyDeleteI would be really excited because it would mean that not only would I have a twin, but I would also have the ability to fly, since my bedroom is on the 2nd floor!
ReplyDeleteFlying would be cool.
DeleteDon't know and I been ask if I had my self clone if I could live with my self. In all honesty I think it would be diffucult.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
I would wonder who kept the mirror there! :-)
ReplyDeleteAh yes, it could be a mirror, couldn't it?
DeleteWell I would be stunned, but once that past I wonder at how that is happening. Is there a mirror there, no....well is there really two of us and maybe that is the shadow part of me that forgot to leave the bedroom when I did!! Or better yet, I have learned that not only do you leave DNA no matter where you have been, a hair, a flake of skin, etc....but I have also learned that you leave a ripple no matter where you have been, you leave some of your vibe, some of your spirit behind...a part of yourself. Maybe I would have left enough of that behind to make a full me! Then I would have to wonder how I was able to pass and look in my bedroom without climbing a ladder since said room is on the second floor....haha
ReplyDeleteHarder to do on the second floor, to be sure.
Deletehaha....and with my balance and grace, that would not turn out pretty if I tried to climb a ladder that high up!
