Redid the Witch Hat Headband

A couple weeks back, I showed off my little witch hat headband...

And you agreed that it was a little small. So, this past week I remade it with a larger hat...

I think that came out rather nice. (It's too late to make another before Halloween, so this'll have to do for this year.)

I even got my new camera to cooperate and take some headband-only photos. (I have to do selfies with my phone. If I had gotten the headband done a day earlier, I could have found someone to take pictures of me.)

The one above is the smaller size. The larger size is below...

If I'd been thinking ahead, I would have gotten these done early enough to offer them for sale. Sigh. Maybe next year. Someone, remind me, OK?

But there is plenty of time to remind you of the original iteration of this idea. From last year...

I will make these for sale if anyone is interested. Just let me know.

If there are any knitters out there, you can make your own. You can find the "ingredients" here:

  2. I thought that the super tiny witch hat was great in that it made me chuckle. However, the larger one shows off the knit a bit more and it looks really fab. Well done.

  4. I like that you made the hat bigger. It came out really nice. Do you think a 13 year old would like the Christmas headband? Might be interested in it for my step granddaughter if you think so.

  6. I missed the original post, but I like the size of the larger hat. It's a cute headband for Halloween. The Santa hat headband is really cute, too—I'm guessing they'll sell well.

  8. They are cute. The bigger one does seem easier to notice. Great job!

  9. I liked the smaller one but now that I see the larger I think I prefer that. Either way, they both look awesome :)

    1. Thanks. The smaller one is cuter, but the bigger one really goes all Halloween.

  11. That extra bit does make for a more captivating witch hat. What if you made hats for other holidays such as an Uncle Sam top hat or Liberty tiara for 4th of July and a valentine for 2/14?

    1. Yeah. After finishing the first, I wasn't ready to redo it, though.

  14. The bigger one definitely looks better. I think the witch's hat and the Santa hat are really cute. I like headbands in theory, but they never seem to work out for me. I feel like they look weird with my glasses most of the time, and I have to be able to see, so no headbands for me.

    1. I have a picture on my Instagram with the large witch hat and my glasses. I don't think it looks weird. On me. I'd have to see a headband on you before I could agree or disagree.

  15. It's amazing what a tiny increase in size made in showing the shape and detail. Nicely done.

    1. Well, they are different hat patterns. I suppose I could have upsized the smaller pattern, but I was in too big a hurry to stop and figure out that math.
