Super
At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. 😉
Have you been watching Black Lightning? It's a newish show on The CW. It's another superhero show, but it's coming at it from a different direction than we usually see (read: not an origin story).
Anyway, some things have been happening with the main character's daughters. That's what prompted this week's question...
What if you learned a family member had superpowers?

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

Haven't seen the show.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be cool. I'd want to know what the super powers were.
I haven't seen that show, either. We've been watching a docu-drama about the frontier days. Good stuff! My SO says I have a super power that lets me identify flowers. Trees and shrubs, though? Not so much. ~grin~ Be well. And thank you for the kind word on our niece. She needs an MRI but isn't coherent enough to answer questions. All other tests look good, though. We need to go see them yet today. I needed to recover emotionally from yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI read a book where every person had a super power. Some were happier with theirs than others. The main character's super power was the ability to find parking. (Imagine going to the mall at Christmas and finding parking instantly...)
DeleteThat would be cool. I would hope that family member would use it for good.
ReplyDeleteWell, you'd know knowing the family member...
DeleteSame as Sherry. I would also like to know if this ran in the family.
ReplyDeleteOne would hope ;)
DeleteI haven't heard of this show! If it was a good super power I would be okay with it. But some of my family should not have powers of any kind. Know what I mean!
ReplyDeleteYeah, every family has at least one of those...
DeleteI would hope it was something cool to have fun with!
ReplyDeleteoooch. Depending on the family member that would quite possibly be very scary. lol
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the family member. My husband? Great! A couple of other people - not so much. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGood point, and one I had not considered when I wrote the question.
DeleteI haven't yet heard of this show. I like super power shows. I wish I knew someone with some!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great show. Wouldn't it be cool if we actually did have super powers?
DeleteFirst I think I would be jealous! I would love to have super powers. I would try to not take advantage of their powers but then again it would depend on the powers they have. What power would you like to have? Me~ the power to wiggle my nose and my house be spotless!
ReplyDeleteWhat power would I like? I have a list somewhere...
DeleteHow the heck did I miss that show?!?! Thanks for the heads up! I think it would depend on what super power they have and how they use it.
ReplyDeleteIt's not entirely missed. There was a new episode on last night ;)
