Once Upon a Time...

I'm a big fantasy fan. Other worlds. Other possibilities.

Science posits the existence of other worlds, be them extrasolar planets or parallel universes. Places that we can't reach (yet?). Or can we?

What if we can "sense" these other worlds? What if the fictional realms "created" by writers actually exist somewhere we can't physically reach?

  1. Oh, that would be wonderful! Maybe that's why the world is clearer sometimes than at others. Whatever separates us gets "thin" at times.

  2. I wish magic existed. I'd be more excited about that!

    1. Hmmm. I bet I could work that into a "what if"...

  3. Love the idea of a parallel existence that reflects the realms we create, but I write some pretty dark stuff. Not sure I want to think too much about those worlds being real. They may be too real already.

  4. Shhh!!! If you type too loudly people will catch on. *shifty eyes* My dimension portal only works on full moons and tidal shifts, but you didn't hear that from me. ;)

    1. Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to blast that secret.

  5. A fascinating subject. Science fiction books, movies and TV's Star Trek have done much with this topic! I'm hooked!

Hi. Just nominated you for the Sunshine Award over at my blog. Come check it out!

  6. That would be pretty cool! I have a couple of fantasy worlds I'd like to be out there somewhere. If we writers are connected to them, we should be able to open the portal that way.

There are a lot of nice potential stories here. Good one.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
