Move Christmas?

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. ðŸ˜‰

There is a sign that gets posted around this time of year that makes me a little crazy. I keep it to myself, and I won't be complaining about it here, but it's what brings this question to my mind:

What if historians/scholars were able to pinpoint the actual date of Jesus' birth? What if that day was in May? Or June? Or March?

  1. They kind of did pinpoint when Jesus was born. Stuff I read pinpointed it around September 11 (ironic isn't it). The funny thing is the Bible never says anything about celebrating Jesus' birth :)

    Merry Christmas!

  2. Most scholars agree it was in the spring or summer, so frankly this December 25 nonsense irritates me. It's the wrong date!!!

  3. It doesn't matter but what we should be doing is making a world a better place for human kind, all year

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
