Saddleback

Saturday afternoon. My father and I were on our weekly walk. I usually like to go someplace scenic, so this day we were out at the Back Bay in Newport Beach. (Here's another link, not Wikipedia.)

"There's Saddleback," my father said. (And another non-Wikipedia link.)

I thought, "Saddleback starts with S..."

Not a great shot, but it was a clear day. Click on the image to make it bigger. Saddleback Mountain is the thing in the distance.

Have you been on any nice walks lately? Where are some of the better places to hike around where you live?

Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...

  1. I been getting little more walk in, since the weather is nice. One of places people walk is out in game reserve.

  3. I was in Newport, R.I. Quite a while back and enjoyed it. I live in wine country ...Niagara On The Lake. I don’t live in this expensive tourist town though but it is nice. There is the Brice Trail nearby plus many trails along the escarpment

  4. Wow! That is gorgeous. I wanted to walk by the nearby river with my father and his dog while they visited for a few days but it didn't happen. :( The view is nowhere near so stunning. Be well!

  5. Well, since I live in the city, there is no really quiet place for a walk, like one might get in the countryside. But there are few parks, that are not so close to the traffic, so they are reasonably quiet. The apartment complex I live in, has a good area for walkabout. Unfortunately, I miss the sort of scenery in that photograph.
Thank you, for your comment on my blog.

  6. Hi Liz - looks to be a gorgeous area to be able to go for a walk with your father, and to enjoy his company and get some outdoor exercise - cheers Hilary

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
