Goose Chase

Some geese live nearby.

I was out walking a dog. (Not my dog. Long story.) Buttercup (the dog) had a run-in with the geese last year. (She barked at them and chased them. They fought back. She now avoids them.) A goose was in our path, so Buttercup turned tail and went the other way.

As we went the long way round, it occurred to me that goose starts with G. (Obvious, I know.) I had just spent three days trying to figure out what I would photograph for today's post.

I dropped off Buttercup and grabbed my phone. But, of course, the goose was no longer in the path. I kind of had to chase it to get these shots. However, G is now done...

Have you had to "chase down" any letters?

Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...

  2. Hi Liz: I am visiting your blog for the first time following up on a comment you left along the way. We lived on a golf course for a number of years and the 4th hole in front of our home was on a lake. The geese were a nusiance leaving their calling card strewned across the green. But from a far gliding over the lake a different story. If you have time with this ambitious theme you have undertaken, I am writing about BOOKSHOPS this year, their architecture, location, and the great folks who sell books....certainly a passion of mine. Join the tour if you can. I'll be back.

  4. Oh gosh, I had a duck (?) follow/chase me around campus in college once. It only stopped because I ran inside one of the buildings hahaha Pretty sure the other kids fed them while between classes and it expected it

    1. A duck? Really. We've got a bunch around here, but they don't bother anyone.

  5. Geese aren't warm and fuzzy. I give them a fairly wide berth.

  6. My SIL named a male chihuahua Buttercup, and I revolted by calling him BC but it never stuck. Poor guy. No wonder he was such a grump. Nice photo! I struggled in past to find a rock band starting with Z. ~grin~ And I've been chased and/or blocked by geese more than once. Happy Blogging!

    1. This Buttercup was named by the rescue place where she came from. The name has stuck.

    2. Sometimes names fit, like people on horses. Or not...

  7. Come to my neighborhood and you wouldn't have trouble finding geese. Chasing letters - X is always hard and, for some reason, K was this year, too. Don't know why. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    1. Not these geese. Not when they prevent you from getting where you want to go. Trust me on this.

  9. I avoid geese, too. I don't bark at them but that doesn't stop them from disliking timid me. Maybe they smell my fear. lol

  12. Great shots of the goose but they are not my favourites. When i was a kid and visited my friend who lived on a farm, they would hiss and chase me
