Once upon a time, I got an iPhone. It was shiny and new. And I decided it needed a cozy.
(This was less of me being a weird knitter and more about not wanting to scratch the thing as it bounced around in my purse. And I wanted an easy way to carry it around if I was just carrying it and not my whole purse.)
I used my favorite cable pattern, and it turned out really nice. I knit more, and I offered them for sale. I even wrote up the pattern and made that available.
Then I got the plus size iPhone, and I had to modify the pattern to accomodate the larger size.
I even knit these for others in the family.
So, when I was offering I'll-knit-you-what-you-want gifts for Christmas, this was requested. Since she uses it as a small purse when she goes out walking, the one I made her before gets lots of use. And this time we agreed that I should line it.
I finished the knitting on this a good month or so ago. It's taken me this long to finish lining it. And now it's done...
I do love knitting these things.
With that complete, it's time to start on super simple scarf 2. I can't knit a scarf for one twin and not the other, can I? But I will not go matchy-matchy, so this one is in a different colorway...
What projects do you have going this week?

Love those purses. They're sweet and just the right size for an afternoon lunch and fashion statement.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz ... I'm getting some phone covers made here - more like sunglass cases - so the phone will slip out. But love your ideas ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteLove the little purses and that scarf is to unique :D
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThe purses are cute. And I love the new scarf! The colors on that one are even better than the previous.
ReplyDeleteLove that purse
ReplyDeleteIt's fun.
DeleteI’d use one without the strap, so then it’s a cover for my phone and I can put it in my actual purse. :)
ReplyDeleteThe one I made for me has a very short strap with a button closure, so I can put it over the strap of the purse.
Deletewell, no knitting projects, that's for sure! But I am working on something new that I hope will reach fruition. We'll see...
ReplyDeleteThose iPhone cases are beautiful! I wish there was a crocheted version, but right now the only items I work on are what I call easy "chewing gum for the mind" type patterns. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI could design a crocheted version. I do, in fact, know how to do crocheted cables. If you want a pattern, that is ;)
DeleteWow! I love that smart phone purse. Especially with the lining. Does it hold anything else or just the iphone? It reminds me of the purse I carry around (small, light, doesn't hold much).
ReplyDeleteThe one I just finished is a bit larger so it can hold a few things more (lipstick, a key, etc).
DeleteThese mobile caddies look unique. You could be onto something if they take off.
ReplyDeleteI still have a flip phone. I need up date it...This evening I just crochet anther round fabric on a rag rug
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Wow! That's really nice. I'm rounding out a new short story in my series and having a grand time. Happy Crafting!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Good luck with your story.
DeleteA simple, ingenious idea. I'm sure these will prove popular!
ReplyDeleteThe phone purse looks nice I have some fingerless gloves I need to get finish this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Good luck on the gloves.
DeleteYour Iphone or even Ipad purse is a good idea and I like that design which I think you can always change up if you want to. The scarf is funky with the colours which I love
ReplyDeleteAlas, I can't take credit for the colorways. The yarn company came up with those.
DeleteI like the green! That's a good Christmas present, to get to choose what you'd like to have knitted for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're not doing matching scarves for the twins. My sister and I aren't twins, but my mom insisted on matching everything for a large part of our childhood. I despised it! Thank you for not doing that to a kid!
I just can't do matchy for the twins. They're not good at sharing, so the request is to get them the same thing each, but when it comes to clothing... I'll go similar, but not exact. Ugh.
DeleteHey Liz...that is really cool. Nice job also. Projects....trying to pull things together for making wedding things.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you've been busy.
DeleteLove this idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteOh look how clever you are!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteIt looks very nice! Such a cute present, too :)
