The Antagonist


At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements ;)

I think I've done this one before. But if I have, I can't find it. So, therefore, it's been a while and it's probably safe to do it again.

What if you're the story's villain?

    Oooh I would revel in it:) We all have a good and bad side just think of Star wars or When Kirk became 2-the bad and the good. So if I am a villain in someone's book, so be it

    That would definitely be a fictionalized story, LOL. I can't imagine myself too much of a villain :)

    Then I'd probably be a really lousy villain. Unless I had a fast moving tank and was knocking slow drivers out of the way.

    Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised. Plus, everyone is a villain (or at least antagonist) to someone else. It's all in how you frame the story.

    I would be an inept villain for sure. Maybe like Gru, the villain in Despicable Me, I would also have minions. Hey, maybe I would be a minion! They are the best part of the Despicable Me franchise. Boy, am I digressing. What was the question? Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    Yeah, I don't think I'd make a very good villain either - unless the other guys were worse than me.

    Being the villain would be so refreshing. I suspect there is part of my brain ready to leap into the role.

    I've never considered that. Don't think I have enough dark thoughts, stealth, or power to be a very effective villain. But, my daughter falls for the villain in EVERY book she reads. Hope she does better IRL.

    Oh I LOVE villains. I always find villains interesting.

    Then again, I hate upsetting people, so if I was the villain, I'd make a terrible one ;-)

    If I was a villain I'd have a cat which sat on my lap and I'd stroke it with an evil laugh... or has that already been done?

    Not a big leap really, just ask the little blighters in the park next door who leave their shit everywhere. I have become the litter chasing madwoman villain of Sorrento. Don't mind it in the least.
