Commonly Misused Words

You know you sound bad when the sub caller hears your three attempts to say, "Hello," and then says, "You don't want to work today." It wasn't a matter of want, more a matter of ability. Ah well, I guess I was due.

So, today I'm giving you: Can You Correctly Use These Commonly Misused Words?

Grammar

How did you do?

Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...

Edited to add: Thanks for all the well-wishes. I'm all better now. I write all these posts a week in advance, so the cold in question hit me on Thursday of last week. Sorry for the confusion.

  1. "Good grammar is sexy." I like that! I'll have to take the quiz later. :)

  2. Cute quiz! I got them all right :) Affect/effect was something that took me a long time to get the difference with :)

    1. Yeah, I still have affect/effect issues, too. But I think it's finally sinking in.

I actually write my posts a week in advance, so the cold in question is mostly gone. Thanks for the well wishes.

  15. Phew A+ for me as well! Although I did type to instead of too in my comments today, typing is different to knowing though I find!

It seems to change with age, years ago in work I never needed to check through my work (I did obviously but it was nearly always 100% okay), these days I find I have to constantly check and my typing is nearly always 100% not okay...

Hope you're feeling better now and good luck with the rest of the challenge.

    1. I find I make those mistakes too, but I consider those typos. If we took the time to check our work, we'd catch most of them, I wager.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
