75 of the Most Popular Films of 1980-1995

Since the horror movie list from last week went over so well. . .

This is a quiz for those of you who are about my age. Well, I mean anyone can try it, but for those of you who are about my age, this is our movie sweet spot.

75 of the Most Popular Films of 1980-1995

I got 52 of the 75, or 69%, mostly because I'm just contrary that way. There are very popular films (*cough* Jurassic Park *cough*) that I refused to see. (There are stories behind some of them, mostly long stories.)

How many have you seen? Are there any on the list that you refuse to see?

  1. I've only seen 36/75. But I've never been that big on movies.

  2. 39%. Probably half of those I saw years later when a VCR came into my life.

    1. To be fair, that era had a lot of good movies. Well, at least movies that are now considered remarkable.

  5. 20 of 75 for 27%. Of course that time period was busy raising kids so hardly any time for movies LOL :)

  6. I did better than I thought, 19/75! I didn't see most of them when they came out though, and most of the 19 I did see I wouldn't want to see again.

    1. That's when services like HBO started up, not to mention VCRs and renting movies.

  7. 63 / 84% Oh, there are some good movies in that list. As you say, right age for them, lol. A couple in there I wouldn't mind seeing again to see how they have stood up to time.

    1. Okay, I found time. Heh... That era was huge for movie watching on date nights, whether at the theater or renting (ahem...) videotapes. I saw 61 out of 75 (81%) and several of these are among my most favorite films ever.

    2. Not shocked. We're similar in ages, so I would expect that this was prime movie-going for you (as it was for me).

  9. 22 of 75 or 29%. But then again, I'm an oldie but goodie. Actually, one place where I fell down was sequels. I generally don't watch them - they are rarely as good as the original. Except, arguably, The Terminator sequel. Not that the original Terminator wasn't good, but...I digress.

    1. I'm with you on sequels. Several of those I hadn't seen the sequels.
