The other day this quiz popped up in my Facebook feed:
How well do you know the basic mechanics of physics?
And I had to try it. Because, I certainly hope I remember something from my college major...
Turns out I do. Whew. Glad I didn't waste those years entirely.
Try it. See how you do. Let me know in the comments.
I surprised my self because I got 30! I suck at science so I'm glad some of the questions had Liz Taylor or Ronnie Reagan
ReplyDeleteYeah, the writers of these quizzes haven't learned the fine art of selecting wrong multiple choice answers. They could have made it a whole lot more of a challenge.
DeleteHi Liz - I got to 11 and then wasn't sure about Lang... one! So stopped ... still I tried! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteOh no. I don't need this blow to my confidence today LOL. I have trouble remembering that the soda machine in my local movie theater is broken and that I have to go to a different one to get a drink.
ReplyDelete34 out of 35, the date of publication got me
ReplyDeleteThe date of publication? I don't follow.
DeleteI did pretty well. But so much of it was common sense. I didn't study physics in college
ReplyDeleteMuch of it was.
DeleteI never even made it to physics in high school.... but I got 30 out of 35. I feel like for most of those questions, the wrong answers were so obviously wrong that I can't really claim to be any better at physics than the average toddler.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they could have made it more of a challenge. But if it had been too hard, I wouldn't have posted it ;)
DeleteI thought it was pretty easy. In most of the questions it was easy to spot which one was science related. I'm just glad they didn't ask about an infinite plane of uniform density.
ReplyDelete31 out of 35. I've forgotten a couple of things, and I'm still laughing about Bob Barker being the wrong answer to one of the questions. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's even better than Manifred the Mediocre as far as wrong answers go. (Wrong answer on a 9th grade history test. I laughed out loud in class over that one.)
DeleteUh. Heh... I doubt I'd pass a physical, let alone anything on physics. ~grin~ I'm not at all surprised you did well. ~hugs~
ReplyDeleteYou should try it. It's easier than you think.
DeleteI was doing so well, flying right through it but then....BAM, I just stopped cause it appeared I was missing them all.
ReplyDeleteReally? Too bad. At least you tried :)
DeleteI got 31/35. Most of them were I eliminated what didn't see right and a few I just downright guessed, sometimes got them right, but mostly got those wrong. Fun test and I don't think I ever took a physics class :)
ReplyDeletebetty
31 out of 35. Not too bad for someone who nearly failed all her science courses.
ReplyDeleteHow well do you know the basic mechanics of physics?
ReplyDelete34 out of 35!
Didn't know that Isaac Newton concluded gravity's extension to the moon.
Also...this is some serious science/social osmosis because fuck all if I have never taken an actual physics course.
Isaac Newton did all sorts of stuff. And he took credit for some stuff that he might not have done... Yeah, he was human and looking to buff up his place in the scientific community. Sigh. (Of course, you can safely say that about most of the "great" scientists.)
DeleteNo science classes for me since I was 15 so I admit to not wanting to feel like a fool. Not tested cos I hate my own failure. Glad you were a success.
ReplyDeleteIf you read the other comments, you might be heartened to find out that the quiz isn't as hard as all that :)
DeleteApparently my teachers taught me something about physics in high school! Then again, the quiz was pretty easy. Some of the answers were a little too obvious. :-/
ReplyDeleteThey were. (If this had been a truly hard quiz, I wouldn't have used it. These are for a bit of fun, not to make anyone feel stupid.)
DeleteSuch a fun quiz and tried the first 11, sailed through and got tired :)
