The Blahs (and St. Patrick's Day Earrings)

Instead of doing any knitting (or crocheting) the last week or so, I've been sitting and staring at the TV. It's not like me. I just don't know what to work on. So, I pull out something, and instead of picking up the needles (or hook), I...don't...

This is my way of saying that I don't have a new knitting post for today. (You may have noticed I didn't post anything last week on Monday. This is why.)

I did pull out my dormant sweater. Which I haven't touched in something like two years (three years?). And I've barely made any progress.

So, I'm pulling out some old pics. Since St. Patrick's Day is coming. And if you need a pair of obnoxious earrings for the day, I've got you covered. (I know you need a pair of these. I love mine!)

(Old picture--my hair is much shorter today.)

Aren't these cute?
I have five pairs for sale. You can find them here.

  1. Sorry about the blahs.
Cool earrings. Think they'd clash with my clothes though. That and everyone would think I was Fruit Loops. Or just fruity.

  2. Those earrings are cute :) Festive for St. Patrick's Day indeed! I did notice you didn't have a post last Monday. I thought I had missed it somehow and went back to check when I saw your last week's Tuesday's one. Blahs are okay to have every now and then, maybe it was your body's way of saying it needed a rest to be unproductive for a bit.

  4. Those earrings are definitely noticeable. I never learned to knit, I had enough trouble trying to master crochet.

    1. Those earrings are actually crocheted. Easy enough pattern.

  5. Those are so funny! My sister's birthday is on St Pat's so I'm always sending her oversized reminders!

  6. At least you sat in front of the TV and got something done! I love to have the noise of my tv going when I am working on my crafts. I have a craftroom that my daughter is staying in right now so I usually just grab what I need and go to the living room. I learned to knit in high school (Home Ec). I can knit and pearl....no adding or dropping of stitches. Well, that is not true, I can drop a few but not on purpose!haha....Great job on the earrings. I usually stick with house shoes or scrave's.

    1. Not really. I stared at the TV and contemplated doing some work. It didn't really happen.

  7. I love the earrings but I'm sorry you're suffering from the blahs.

I had a similar moment the week before last when I ended up with a bad bug. I just had no motivation to do anything, but I did manage to make up for it this weekend just gone when I managed to get loads of stuff done.

  8. I've been feeling very flat/blah-like these days, too. I'm trying to fake it until I make it. We'll see how that goes...

The earrings are cute. Very subtle. :)

  9. You will get your mo-jo back just don't try to push it because that's the worst thing one can do. I think my ass has formed into the couch so I can't say anything. It's really hard to get through the doors with a couch attached to one's butt.

  10. I've had days like that. It's so frustrating when you want something new to work on but don't know what it should be. It's pure torture until something finally sparks your imagination.

    The earrings are cute, though.

  12. Write something? Draw something? Go to a museum, library, take a walk...or just binge watch Buffy or Supernatural. I seldom don't know what to do with myself but I do find when all my creative energy has been sucked dry it's nice to just sit in front of the tv for a few hours. Strangely, the only thing I've watched in the last month is Arrival.

  13. Cute - I can think of various uses for them. How about wine charms? No, wait....this is St. Patrick's Day we are talking about. Beer charms? Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    1. Beer charms... Brilliant. I have a bunch of the shamrocks made, so it would be so easy to add a little metal ring to those... Thanks for the idea.

  14. I'm rather fond of the Beer Charms idea from bookworm. Great idea.

    1. It is a great idea. And one I could implement.

  15. Those are cute :) I hope your motivation comes back soon. It's no fun having the blahs, I know I've suffered from them far too much lately.

  16. Those earrings are so adorable.

I have my "blah" days too. I think everyone gets them every now and then.

  19. It's ok to have the BLAHS. Best to try not to fight it too much. It will pass. Little hug - I don't like hugs when I have the blahs.

  20. You say it's an easy pattern. As for me, I'd probably end up tying myself in a knot. ~grin~ Happy early St. Patrick's Day! I hope you sell all your adorable earrings.

    1. It was easy. I can't find the pattern now, though. It was something like this: http://stitch4ever.com/2013/07/26/crochet-shamrock-free-pattern/

  21. Darn on the blahs. I've had that with reading this week. Hope it passes for ya soon!
