What if? It's the basis of many stories. We ask. We ponder. We wonder.
On Tuesdays I throw one out there. What if? It may be speculative. It may stem from something I see. It may be something I pull from the news.
Make of it what you will. If a for instance is not specified, interpret that instance as you wish. And if the idea turns into a story, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements 😉
What if we could take a "cruise" to Jupiter?
No thanks, not for me! Just the idea is vertiginous. I hate flying, and I hate heights, so I'll just stay right here and look at pictures of Saturn, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteYou'd get better pictures from right above. I'm just sayin'...
DeleteLike on the space cruiser in The Fifth Element? Looks fun, but I prefer to keep my feet on Earth.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long since I've seen The Fifth Element that I don't recall this. But likely that's what I mean.
DeleteMy reply would be based on how long it had been going on. If it was a new thing, I would pass, waiting a bit to be sure all is safe and well. Then, I would prob jump on and go, if I could afford it.
ReplyDeleteAh, very good questions. If you've seen the show Avenue 5, then you know what kind of bad things could happen.
DeleteI would not could not go to Jupiter. I can not will not thin of much that is stupider. Not on a cruise, not on a rocket, not with the author of The Help, Kathrynn Stockett. (Sorry, feeling Seussian)
ReplyDeleteI do not like Green Eggs and Ham. I do not like them Sam-I-Am.
DeleteLOL
DeleteI'd consider it. After it's been done many times.
ReplyDeleteI won't live long enough for us to have the technology. There would be a lot of challenges to overcome. We will - one day. But not with me.
ReplyDeleteIt's a what if. Pretend we can do it today.
DeleteWith modern technology, I agree with Su-Sieee! Mac. The only woman for the job is Ms. Frizzle and her bus.
DeleteIn a yellow school bus with Lily Tomlin as the bus driver? I’m on it.
