I have often commented that if it were to snow here, it would make national news. So, you've already heard.
It's been cold. For us.
Which means that it's been a good time to work with the bulky yarn on my little pillow cover.
No, I personally haven't seen snow here. We've just had a bit of rain. (Well, more than a bit...) But some areas that are close enough by that they are covered by the same local news broadcasts have gotten snow, so I've seen the pretty pictures. And not so pretty pictures. We are not accustomed to this sort of weather, so things have been a mess.
I hope to finish this before things warm up, as one of the reasons I did not like working with this yarn was because it was too hot. Well, that was closer to summer time. Now, this yarn is the perfect weight to keep me warm.
We're due more rain today. As the schools aren't really built for the rain, wish me luck.
(Every classroom opens to the outside, so passing periods are passed in the elements. This means wet kiddos. All day. They track in mud. They are wound up because they are wet and cold. Everything is sopping wet. It's going to be a long day.)
All those wonderful things you've knitted and wondered when you'd ever wear them! Now's the time!
ReplyDeleteYup, I've been pulling out scarves and sweaters that I never get to wear.
DeleteI heard you had snow out in the LA area. Meanwhile over here, we're having our first real storm tomorrow, the day before March. There's something wonky going on.
ReplyDeleteThe weather really has been crazy lately! I hope today isn't too bad with everyone being cold, wet, and muddy.
ReplyDeleteSo far it's been okay, but I've got the video game class, which makes things easier anyway. (They were shocked when I opened the door and it was raining. Sigh. The news has been predicting rain for days.)
DeleteYeah, wonky weather this year
ReplyDeleteVery.
DeleteYou are experiencing our norm, sopping wet, mud, ick, only ours here last 8 or 9 months. Can you please send up some of your normal weather in exchange?
ReplyDeleteThat would be only fair.
DeleteJust crazy that near you has received snow. Meanwhile we've been 70's and even into the 80's.
ReplyDeleteYou got our weather. Enjoy.
Deletehaha....maybe not there, but Northern Calif and the mountains! Even up on Palomar Mt which is not that far from La Mesa. So yes dear, Calif sure has made the national news! lol...Just as I typed that the news came on announced that Calif. got more. LOL...It's like I tell Cory...people see shows on TV where it is always sunny. Most folks think that ALL of Calif. is like that. I know I did, even being from there cause i left when I was about 2. But I have been there and saw a thunderstorm, lasted a total of 5 mins! lol...But having Cory live there I pay attention to the weather so now I can honestly say, I don't see Calif as being all sunny and bright, y'all do have different weather!! I have been to the very tip of Palomar Mt. and they have had about 6 inches of snow there. I would not even TRY to get off that mt. with snow. I have drove that road up there when it was dry!!
ReplyDeleteSan Bernardino had snow. And I think some of northern LA County, like Lancaster. Of course, it's not that unusual for Lancaster to have some snow when it gets this cold.
DeleteGetting to work soaking wet is really unpleasant.
ReplyDeleteHere, we are transitioning from winter to summer. Days are gradually getting warmer.
Hi Liz - oh I'll be interested to read about your day; while the yarn is a great choice - it's cold here too - but no snow. All the best - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteClimate change? What climate change? I tell you, it's just wonky...the weather that is. We are to get hit again with another snow storm tomorrow which may change to freezing rain and then rain. Who knows.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow on 3rd Feb, just down the road from us (about 2 hours drive)... but that is the middle of our summer (in Australia)!!!!
