At the heart of much speculative fiction
(and fiction in general) is a question.
What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out
there and see what you make of it. Do with it
as you please. If a for-instance is not specified,
feel free to interpret that instance as you
wish. And if you find this becomes
a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a
thank you in the acknowledgements. 😉
So, this week's question is an actual story idea I had years ago. One of these days I might actually write that story:
What if Santa Claus was real and his descendants (because he is long dead) continue his work to this day, but very much behind the scenes?
I like this idea ❤
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it.
DeleteWhat do you mean what if? Of course he's real and the work continues! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd be wondering where my presents have been all these years.
ReplyDeleteThat would be so cool. No, wait, let's ask Dr. Fauci! He vaccinated somebody at the North Pole!
ReplyDeleteHe would know more than us, wouldn't he?
DeleteMartha is right: Santa is real. He is working overtime this year. My list is not long, but I have been a good girl.
ReplyDeleteConsider me corrected.
DeleteHe is kind of real. He is based on someone from the mid 300 AD's (I think; its late and I'm tired). The concept is good with Santa doing nice things; I'm just not a fan of the "he sees you when you are naughty, he sees you when you are nice" thing. He certainly is not deity :)

Well, that's the idea. The someone from the past that is the original has descendants all over the world, and. . . I'm sure you don't want to hear about the story. It'll be more interesting if I ever actually write it.
DeleteIn this time of year I become child and believe that Santa is real. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

We're all children at this time of year.
