Uh Oh...

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements ;)

I'm again appropriating a question from Twitter. Because I couldn't think of anything this made me laugh. And it gives me story ideas...

  4. We have one of those things but haven't taken it out of the box. I'd rather not have Alexa around lol

  5. I'm such a ludite that I didn't get the Alexa reference at first. ~snort~ The premise I foresaw reminded me of a movie called 'May' in which a psychotic young woman proceeds to build herself the perfect boyfriend. Sad, creepy movie. Makes me want to see it again.

    1. Interesting. Just goes to show that every idea has been done before. The trick is to put your own spin on it.

  7. That could make for either a funny or scary story, depending on which way you go.

  8. A modern retelling of Dr Frankenstein? I bet they could make the body look more natural. Now what would it end up doing?

  9. I should blog about my adventures with Alexa. They haven't all been positive, and I've actually found myself yelling abuse at her..uh, it. Maybe I'd better check my recent purchases on Amazon since they may not have been purchased by me. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  10. I saw this on twitter (or facebook? Idk) and it made me laugh. Especially after hearing about the kid that ordered an expensive doll house and lots of junk food from Alexa without her parents realizing it. :)

  12. My luck, Alexa will order something to make her look like 'Throw Momma From the Train.'

  13. Hi Liz ... I don't have Alexa ... but I suspect she might even reach my world and build herself a body here - creative thought from that kid - cheers Hilary

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
