Sheldon
It's been a while since I was last at the continuation high school. So, it was nice to go back.
First period, the class was media art. They were working on animations.
Class hadn't yet started. Most had found their seats and were logging onto their computers. One boy, though, was pulling a chair in a circle around him. I questioned him.
"I have to find a good chair."
Another student explained: "He's our Sheldon".
Okay, I can see wanting a chair without a bum wheel. And considering that he found the chair he was testing to be adequate (and worked the rest of the period), I let the whole thing pass without further comment.

I appreciate your comments.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

Nothing like being in an uncomfortable chair and then having to do work, so I can see his point :)

lol. I love that the other student called him "their Sheldon" and he didn't bat an eye. He just did his thing, picked his chair, and was done. :) As long as he was well-behaved during the rest of class, right?
ReplyDeleteHe agreed.
DeleteThe Sheldon - funny!
ReplyDeleteWell done ... always testing you ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHehe, I was that kid at school.
ReplyDeleteActually, now I work at a computer all day I'm very possessive about my office chair (we all are). It seems to take ages to get everything positioned just the way it needs to be for proper comfort and then inevitably someone'll come along and adjust it all out of whack.
Understandable. These chairs aren't adjustable, though, so it wasn't like there was all that much difference.
DeleteI totally would not have gotten the Sheldon reference.
ReplyDeleteOh, they made sure to say "Sheldon from Big Bang Theory", but it was hard to put that in the post without it sounding awkward.
Deletelol I actually got that reference :D Glad he didn't cause trouble!
ReplyDeleteOnce he got the right chair...
DeleteOh yeah, there's nothing worse than having a bad chair. It's hard to concentrate when it's wobbling or something.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only person who doesn't watch that show? I had to look up the reference. Honestly, I don't watch much TV and seldom like sitcoms. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that this fellow sorted it out and got to work. How refreshing!
No, I don't watch it either. I'm familiar with it, though. It turned out to be a very Big Bang Theory day (see tomorrow's post).
DeleteThat's funny. I'll check it out, for sure.
DeleteSound like some of the shopping carts I used with lose wheel.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Those are the worst.
DeleteFinding a good chair looks logical. Its like having half the work done.
ReplyDeleteSheldon, I have to laugh about that one, because Dakota, my dog is my Sheldon. He has to have things his way, he don't like change, don't mess with his routine, life is all about him......yep, he is my Sheldon.
ReplyDeleteNice that we have a shorthand way to describe a personality.
DeleteNo wonder the kid in the afternoon class was watching BBT. Must be a cult thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's popular.
